Cannot wait to get back! Amazing apartment in one of my new favorite areas of the world. Next time, we'll just make sure to stay longer...4 nights wasn't nearly enough.

Response from the owner Glad you enjoyed your time here. I always encourage people to stay the week. Even then you will go away wishing for more!

“Great Place. Quiet town. Beautiful Views”

Excellent location. Beautiful apartment. John and Wendy were great to work with. They provided ideas of where to visit and outlined helpful tips for the week we were there. I would highly recommend staying with them to anyone interested.

“Heaven on earth!”

Reviewed 20 Jan 2013

This castle apartment, this town and this region of Tuscany were absolutely beautiful, exceeding our expectations! We were 2 couples celebrating our 25th anniversary, and stayed here following our 12 day Mediterranean cruise last October (2012). We had seen amazing countries and places on our cruise, however when we arrived here and climbed the stairs to the tower in the apartment, the view took our "breath away"! This was the highlight of our entire trip! This was the first time we had rented an apartment, and of course a little nervous about the process. Without meeting John and Wendy, they made us feel so comfortable and welcome. The "Welcome Package" that they provide gives you all the information that you need for your stay and any question you may have, you are sure to find the answer in their guide. Located in this amazing medieval town of Montefollonico, you are in the heart of the most beautiful area of Tuscany. John and Wendy include the sights to see and places to visit in their guide, which we followed and were so glad we did! The town provides everything you need, all within a short walking distance - groceries (including wine, spirits and beer) and local restaurants which were all very good. The apartment was perfect for 2 couples,we each had our own bedroom and own bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and all the linens and towels provided were of the highest standard. Just remember no elevators here, so when you first arrive, you must carry your bags up the stairs. John and Wendy let us know that the internet was a little unstable, which it was, but that was okay too. Every daylight moment we spent at the apartment were spent in the tower, enjoying our Tuscany wines, along with our sheep cheese( so good Wendy!) and never getting enough of the beautiful views, the peace all around us, and the sounds of the birds singing. Truly heaven on earth! Thank you John and Wendy for sharing your world with us!

“Such a gem in a magical place!”

Our weeklong stay at the beginning of October was nothing short of magical. Such an incredibly serene and peaceful setting with far reaching views of the area from the Tower. Located in an intimate Tuscan village filled with history, beautiful medieval architecture and the loveliest people who went out of their way to help you. Wendy and John went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and to steer us to the must see sites, restaurants and wine tastings. The apartment was clean with all the necessary kitchen and laundry amenities, and the space was generous with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, making the layout ideal for two couples. The village had some outstanding restaurants and a well stocked grocery store. Superb location for visiting many of the top tier wine producers of Montepulciano and Montalcino. Would love to return someday.

“A Little Slice of Heaven”

The most beautiful spot on earth, the Tuscan Tower was a remarkable gem hidden away in a small village in Tuscany. John and Wendy went above and beyond to ensure our stay was magical and for that we cannot express our thanks. The apartment had every modern convenience yet maintained that quality of stepping back in time. The village had wonderful restaurants, a grocery, wine shop and friendly locals who could not do enough for those of us with limited Italian! The best vacation ever!

I knew from the pictures on the website that this would be a cool place for my husband and me to stay (8 nights), but what exceeded expectations were: the extra, thoughtful amenities such as bathrobes; the cuteness of tiny Montefollonico (tiny and non-touristy, yet with 3+ killer-good restaurants, don't miss Botte Piena); the easy access to other, medieval hill towns, and more. Even drying our clothes in the sunshine on the turret was a blast. The only thing that went "wrong" was one night when we wanted to cook, the stove was out of gas. I happened to email Wendy, who was back in NYC, about it and within 5 minutes she had Luciano there replacing it for us! Now, that's service! -Abby Ruben/Eddie Cohen, Mpls.

Response from the owner I can see from the photos you guys kindly sent that you got some fabulous views walking around the area. I include the wheel of cheese at Tre Dici Gobbi as a fabulous view. One that makes me hungry though. Thanks for your kind thoughts. Ciao John

“fantastic little town, perfect location in S Tuscany”

Tuscan Tower is exactly as it appears on the webiste. Lovely apartment in a fantastic little walled town in southern Tuscany. Great value for two couples. The location is a perfect home base for exploring most of Tuscany. Very short drive to great towns like Pienza and Montepulciano. Easy day trip to Siena. Owners were great at helping us plan day trips, recommending restaurants, etc... Amazing view from roof deck. A little chilly in late Oct.

“Perfect Holiday Spot in Beautiful Tuscany”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2010

The Tuscan Tower was fabulous, right from our first contact with the owners, John and Wendy from NYC, through to the end of our stay in their well-located and quaint little Tuscan village of Montefollinico. John and Wendy assisted us in making bookings for cooking classes as well as making many suggestions to make our Tuscan holiday a very enjoyable one. The very comfortable and spacious Tower is beautifully situated in this small character village and is exceptionally close to many fine restaurants (three Michelin-rated restaurants in the small village!) We hope to return sometime soon as we loved everything about our visit! Thanks John and Wendy!

“The Tuscan Tower in Montefollonico was the highlight of our thre”

Reviewed 30 Apr 2010

We stayed at the Tuscan Tower for one week of a three week visit to Italy to celebrate my 60th birthday. We chose this property because of the views, the comfortable beds and linens and because it was located in a small village with several local restaurants. We wanted to be able to come back to the village after a day of exploring Tuscany and freshen up to go out to dinner without having to drive. We were not disappointed. The property is very comfortable and well tended. There are comfortable beds, nice pillows and big thirsty towels. The kitchen is very modern and convenient. The view from the tower is unbelievable. The village of Montefollonico is so clean and friendly. Everyone went out of their way to help us and be cordial. The local restaurants recommended to us by John and Wendy were excellent, La Botte Piena, 13 Gobbi and La Chiusa. We thought the owner of 13 Gobbi looked like Gary Oldman and we are still repeating his phrase "Thank you for you!" The chef at La Chiusa, Dania, was so very gracious and the food was completely amazing. The only thing I might suggest is if you are really tall, you will have to duck under some of the doorways. Is it an old castle after all.

“Highly Recommended”

Reviewed 17 Jan 2010

Everything about the apartment and the rental process were exactly as John and Wendy specified. Montefollonico is not one of the crowded hill towns and itis a great location from which to take short drives to experience Tuscany.Highly recommended.
