Casa Marecol is a modern family sized villa built among other individually designed properties in a highly-sought-after, mature, small, residential development just north of the archaeological site at Alcalar, a very well equipped holiday home with full air-conditioning. This relaxing rural setting is within easy reach of sandy beaches, golf courses, The Algarve Motor Park in the parish of Mexilhoeira Grande and the historic towns of Alvor, Portimão, Lagos and Silves.

The Algarve Motor Park - one of the most modern race circuits in the world with a Karting circuit, off-road circuit, sports complex, technology park and tourist resort. It is 4.5 kilometres north of the Algarve motorway (A22) and only a 10-minute drive from Casa Marecol, Portimão and Lagos.

Casa Marecol is tastefully furnished throughout with Seconique Corona pine furniture. Each bedroom and the lounge have full air-conditioning. Each bedroom also has a 6-drawer chest, bedside cabinets, reading lights, comfort rugs and a built-in wardrobe with sliding full-length mirror door. The villa has external shutters on all rear windows for added security and privacy. All windows have wire mesh screens. There is a built-in safe for valuables. The 'How To' section of the villa’s handbook provides help with all Casa Marecol’s internal matters and recommends local places of interest and restaurants. A policy of not allowing pets and smoking inside the villa is for the wellbeing of guests. A cot and a high chair are also available on request.

The surface of the gradually sloping drive is finished as a calcada pavement. A large traditional Portuguese compass mosaic points North to the stone pillar outside the main entrance. There are no steps inside the villa just a continuous non-slip floor. All doorways are wide. Only two small steps lead down from the covered patio to the terrace and lawns surrounding the pool. This area is all on the same level. It is a wheelchair-friendly environment.
Casa Marecol is gated, hedged and partly walled with free parking in the quiet, level, cul-de-sac. The 10 x 5m swimming pool shelves gently from 1m at the steps to 2m at the deep end. Ample garden furniture and sun loungers are provided on the patio, terrace and lawn. The steep steps down to the underground pool pump room are fenced and should not be used by guests. The pool is not fenced so children need to be supervised at all times. Barbecue – enjoy al fresco eating.

“Smashing villa”
About our 6th time in this villa. Once again a lovely stay. We have seen the garden change and mature over the years. 2 lovely restaurants nearby; one 7 minutes walk the other 20 minutes
