Description
Villa Florence nestles in the olive groves which overlook the unspoilt village of Kalkan. The house has been lovingly furnished using local crafts and materials. It's situated in a beautifully landscaped, private garden, filled with a range of tropical & indigenous plants, and boasts a large 40 sq m pool. The house has three large bedrooms, four bathrooms, spacious open-plan sitting room with two sofa beds, kitchen/dining area, first floor balcony, veranda and roof terrace. It is air-conditioned throughout and we now have Broadband Wi Fi installed.

The village of Kalkan descends to the sea and picturesque harbour in terraces of white-washed and wooden houses, many boasting ornately carved Ottoman timber balconies, draped in bougainvillaea. Very strict building rules ensure that the village remains small, in tact and unspoilt. The streets and alleyways are a veritable Aladdin's cave - think carpet bazaars, antique shops, ceramic stores, and arty jewellery shops where pieces are custom-made in silver, gold, turquoise and amber.
Cruises - a day at sea is a must. Take a trip on one of the many Gulet cruises from the harbour and visit stunning secluded coves.
Beaches - Kalkan beach is next to the harbour. It's a pebble beach so the sea is unbelievably clear. Sandy Kaputas beach is 10 mins away while Patara Beach (30 mins away) is regularly voted one of the best beaches in the world.
Ancient Ruins - Kalkan offers easy access to many great classical sites such as Xanthos, Patara, Letoon, Pinara and Tlos
Kalkan is famous throughout Turkey for its roof-top bars and restaurants which offer fabulous views of the harbour, the sea - and at night, the stars. For such a small place Kalkan has an astonishing range of restaurants. You can sit cross-legged on kilims and floor cushions and be served traditional Turkish fare, enjoy freshly-caught seafood at one of the smart harbour side establishments, or feast on the closest thing you'll get to home-cooking at one of the charmingly low-key, back street eateries

“Stunning Villa in amazing location”
Villa Florence is situated on the fringes of Kalkan. With its stunning location, amazing pool and beautiful gardens we had a wonderful holiday. Everything you need is in the villa and Frank Noon, the owner, was very helpful and accommodating. Because we always have a fantastic time here, we have returned several times. A truly magical stay. We are already booking to return next year.

“Well positioned and attractive villa in kalkan”
On a recent visit for the first time to Villa Florence we were very pleased overall and the owner Frank was extremely helpful and did all he could to ensure a pleasant holiday. Although the villa needs some maintenance or updating it was still lovely with a great pool. The position was excellent near shops and restaurants and supermarkets were just a short walk away.The villa had a good feel and although slightly overlooked it had great views. The pool & garden maintenance guy called Happy but who also likes to be known as Lucky was superb in looking after the villa and ourselves and very kindly got us some fresh bread every morning.The area for those who haven't yet visited Kalkan, we would certainly highly recommend. The owner was very accommodating in allowing us to have a late check out on departure which was very much appreciated too. We certainly hope to return !

Response from the owner Many thanks for taking time to review our villa. I just wanted to clarify one detail in your review about being overlooked which we aren't at all. We like to pride ourselves on being one of a few properties in Kalkan that isn't overlooked giving us a very private aspect. Due to the lush vegetation and position of the villa we appeal to those who want complete privacy when in the pool and it's surrounding area. We also appreciate your comments about updating and will have new, refurbished bathrooms by season 2017. We like the traditional look and feel of the villa so will not be modernising that any time soon.

“Just the perfect holiday”
The owner Frank, is an excellent person to deal with and made the booking as straightforward as possible. The villa was perfect, just the right size for a party of 6 adults, no complaints at all. Kalkan is a superb resort, and the villa is ideally placed within a 8 minute stroll down hill of the centre and harbour area. Would not hesitate to return to Kalkan and villa Florence.

“A lovely, relaxing villa with all the luxuries of home”
Fantastic 2 weeks in Villa Florence; can't rate this villa highly enough. Its location at the top of the town means that it's quiet & secluded yet easy down hill stroll to all the restaurants, shops & beach. Getting back up the hill isn't a problem, 10tl in a taxi! The villa itself is well equipped, clean & well maintained. The pool area is kept spotless and sun loungers are very comfortable. We made good use of the bbq(local supermarkets sell good quality meat & veg) and my 11 & 13 boys appreciated the playstation when they wanted to escape the midday sun. Owner Frank was a pleasure to deal with. He organised very efficient transfers (water & refreshing wipes provided!) and his recommendation for boat hire was spot on. Well worth a stay for a wonderful relaxing holiday.

“A beautiful villa, perfect for a family holiday.”
We had a great week in villa Gül. Villa was just what we expected, perhaps even more. High vegetation around the garden and the pool, providing full privacy and beauty of colorful flowers, just perfect for a family holiday. The swimming pool is very large, comfortable and relaxing. Most of the time we were at the pool. We especially enjoyed swimming at night, under plenty of lights around it. At the evening hours we enjoyed our tea and coffee on the roof terrace, where the view over the city and coastline is beautiful. Kalkan is a fantastic little harbour town, which offers an amazing choice of restaurants serving some excellent food. Kalkan beach is a short walk away down from the villa, but the walk back up can be quite strenuous, so you need to use Taxis to return from the beach, they are not expensive and always available. I would definitely recommend this villa/location to anyone.
