Situated in Simon's Town, near Boulders Beach were the penguins live, PingusHouse is a 4 bedroom holiday home with a nice private secluded garden and solar heated swimming pool. It is also within a five minute walk from incredible secret little beaches, with natural crystal clear water pools surrounded by big black round rocks (boulders) an ideal place for a refreshing swim and great fun for children; even in winter time to walk and scroll around the area is great fun and not so cold!

Lightly furnished and fully equipped with all mod cons, the house offers accommodation for up to 8 guests and boasts quality interior and decor. The style is modern and sleek, with white and blue walls and decor.

The main floor consists of a spacious expansive open plan lounge, dining area and fully equipped kitchen, all of which leads out through a total open glass door into a terrace, offering incredible sea views. The terrace is furnished with an 8 seater outdoor dining table and is under a white pergola that gives a great shade in the sunny days.

There are three bedrooms in the main house; the main bedroom has en-suite bathroom with shower, and two double bedrooms with a bathroom that has bath and separate shower. The fourth bedroom is outside the main house just next to it and it's a double bedroom with small en-suite bathroom with shower.

A quiet and relaxing place, a great base to enjoy and visit nearby places.

Note: The Pool is solar heated, so it will be warmer in sunny days.

Getting around

We recommend to have a car to move around the area and visit cape town. However, there are taxi services that can be arrange in a daily basis. Pingushouse is at: - 10 minute walk from Simons Town Golf Course - 20 minute walk from the world famous penguins in Boulders Beach. - 2000 mts. from the town centre - 10 minutes drive to Cape of Good Hope National Park (part of Table Mountain National Park) - 30 minutes drive to V&A Waterfront (Cape Town) - 45 minutes drive to Cape Town International Airport - 60 minutes drive to the Winelands, (Franschoek, Stellenbosch,..)

We, the owners, will not be able to interact with our guests, but Gillian our fantastic housekeeper, will do the hand out off keys and will guide you through the house and give you all the necessary information. She is very helpful and all our guests love her!.

Response from the owner Thank you for your feedback. One of the remarks that surprise us most is when you state that the house had not been cleaned properly, as this for us is not acceptable as ourselves as guests when renting a house, we demand and expect to enter a spotless house and, if it is not the case, we immediately call the owner on arrival to let them know. We did not hear from you, even after we sent a sms asking if all was fine and your answer was a simple "All is fine". In the last 2 years we have hosted a total of 197 guests and we have never received any such comments. In any case, of course, we will bring the point up with our housekeeper. The house is prepared to host up to 8 guests, with all the necessary equipment. We were not advised that you were planning to have an Event at the house, as we were after told by neighbors and housekeeping removing a fairly amount of glass bottles. Although in our contract is stated that we do not accept rentals that will be using the house for events without the owners previous consent, we would have gladly assisted you bringing in more serving platters, or any other special requirements, as we have done in the past with guests celebrating small weddings/birthdays or at Christmas/Easter periods, but sadly we were not informed about it. We understand that things can break when using them, so if a hand towel hook, that was previously fixed onto the wall, is broken during your stay, we just come and fix it, as we do with other similar things (replacing light bulbs, bedside lamps, loose door handles...). For the "rotting deck", our housekeeper advised of a loose wooden plank, which has now been fixed. We do not recall any wood on any of the bathrooms. As it can be seen on the photos and description of the house, two bedrooms have big windows that look at the backside of the house, so they do not have the sea view as the other two. When the venetian blinds are pulled up, more natural light comes in. As a contrast with the rest of the house that is all open and full of light they seem darker. Being a Self Catering unit we do provide a small welcome pack of coffee, tea and sugar, individually packed, salt and pepper, a roll of kitchen paper, dishwasher liquid soap, a sponge and a few dishwasher tablets. In the bathrooms we provide 2 new rolls of toilet paper and "liquid" hand soap in each of them. We do advise housekeeping to remove any rest of foods or dry ingredients left over by past guests. She seems to have removed the salt and pepper and we apologies for this. Our garden services, that attend to the house every second week, were not able to come into the property, as lasts guests staying for three weeks, and that left the same day of your arrival, did not want to be disturbed and we respected this. As a consequence the hedges were not cut in the last three weeks (and they do grow quickly! That is why we have a garden service coming every two weeks). So the view was not so spectacular when you arrived. As you stayed over a weekend, garden services were only able to come to the property after you checked out. Hedges are now cut back again to normal. We pride ourselves and are happy to have the more and more repeating or 'loyal' clients. And it is a pleasure for us to read the guest book left at the house with past guests experiences. I will kindly suggest, for your future rentals, to please let owners know of any issues or problems on your arrival day, so they can act accordingly and make your stay a pleasant one. In our case, that is what we aim for.
