“Great family holiday”
Good spacious accommodation. The aga in the kitchen was brilliant. However, the second double bedroom was a bit cramped. The pub over the road offered good reasonably priced food, and you only had to stagger across the road.
“Be the railway children for a week”
My wife and I took our 2 grown up children and their children to the holiday cottage for a week. The 2 four year old children thought it was marvelous that they could stand on the platform, watch steam trains go by and wave to the driver and passengers. There is a picturesque walk into Whitby with the railway line on your left and the River Esk on your right which takes about 20 minutes. The house is large and well furnished and we had a wonderful time there.
great location very central, lovely butchers up the road, loved the agar spent most of our time round the table in front of the agar, nice food at the pub over the road, went on the train from this station to middlesborough good shopping day out for £6.00. nice walk to whitby. house clean bed linen excellent quality, take dogs very traditional house good holiday in all
“Everything we wished for and more”
This was the most money we had ever spent on a self-catering holiday. We chose the Station house as somewhere magical to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. The agar was a first time experience which created delicious breakfasts and, at the time of our stay, the Bridge Inn kept a good pint and served hot food. I thought my eighteen month old granddaughter would be too young to appreciate the steam trains but she soon had us all running out to wave to the choo-choo! We did not resent one pence of our outlay. The only problem was having to come home. We did not want to come home.
what a house coudnt fault it everything you needed and more.Pub over road was friendly and the food was brilliant ( try the steak )it was a fab expereance all round and try sandsend a lovely coastline bout ten mins away by car.You will not be dissapointed by this gem of a property, book it now!!!
The Station House is a beautiful property with lots of quirky features. We had a wonderful, relaxing weekend and are already planning our return visit.
The roomy house had everything one would need for a comfortable stay. All tourist spots within easy reach with the added bonus of trains passing by your window.
“Amazing house we all loved it”
We spent bank holiday weekend here for my hen do. There were 11 of us and we all loved the house. Location was brilliant and seeing the trains was lovely. My parents and Uncle arrived after we left as we had hired house for a week. They felt the same and they have talked of having a family do there next year. A real gem.
We'd stayed at the Station House for a winter break in December 2008 and immediately fell in love with the palce and area.
Very helpful information prior to arrival by the owner. Plesant cottage with good facilities. ideal for large families, as there is plenty of space both upstairs and down. Ideal location; steam train passes the window four times a day which the grandchildren loved. Very close to Whitby. The buthers up the road highly recommended.
