Description

This semi-detached barn conversion is on a working farm in Llanddewi Skirrid near Abergavenny, and sleeps two people in one bedroom plus a sofa bed in the living room.The Byre is set on the owners' working farm in Llanddewi Skirrid, 3 miles from Abergavenny, close to the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons) and the Black Mountains. This lovely cottage has a lower ground floor double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. Upstairs, yet still on the 'ground floor', is an open plan living area with underfloor heating and a well-equipped kitchen, sitting area and dining area. Outside can be found off road parking and a patio with furniture. With plenty of walks, cycle trails, castles, villages, tearooms and glorious countryside, The Byre is as suited to walkers and intrepid out-doors types as it is couples in search of a romantic escape.

Amenities: Oil underfloor heating. Electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, CD/radio, WiFi, selection of books, games and DVDs. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Travel cot and highchair. Off road parking for 2 cars. Patio area with furniture. Sorry, no pets in cottage, though one dog is welcome in outside kennel only. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 3 miles. Restaurant 1 mile. Note: Owner can offer stabling facilities for guests' horses by prior arrangement.

Region: Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Town: The Welsh hamlet of Llanddewi Skirrid lies amid lovely countryside, 3 miles from Abergavenny, close to the Black Mountains and Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (Brecon Beacons). The famous Walnut Tree restaurant can be found here, and more fine dining at The Fox Hunter restaurant is just a short drive away. Walkers will enjoy the variety of trails around the countryside and up Skirrid Mountain, which is the most easterly peak in the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons). Abergavenny has amenities including shops, pubs and tearooms, while the Wye Valley, abbeys and castles can all be found in this beautiful region.
