Description from owner

Description

Holidays spent at Heath Cottage can be entirely relaxing affairs, just enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the natural country-side and the wildlife on your doorstep. Or they can be action-packed and exhilarating. It’s your choice. And doing both is perfectly acceptable.

The Boat as our lovely village is known, is set amongst heather clad hills and native woodland within the Cairngorms National Park. Abundant wildlife, magnificent scenery, many sporting and leisure activities and a traditional Highland welcome are all to be found here.

Play the superb 18-hole golf course or fish the Spey. Unique bird watching opportunities abound; tranquil woods and dramatic hillsides to walk, climb or ski are within easy reach. Cycle on excellent tracks and quiet roads – the Speyside Way meets the Sustrans cycle route in the centre of the village. Enjoy our Community Garden and be entertained by the many activities in the Community Hall. Take a trip on a scenic steam railway or in a canoe!

Lying adjacent to the River Spey, Boat of Garten is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, centrally located in the Highlands of Scotland and is the perfect place from which to explore the Highlands or simply unwind.

You can find an abundance of information on the Boat at boatofgarten.

Drive for half an hour and you can explore some of Scotland’s most romantic hills and glens, including challenging Munros, and the ever-changing scenery of Lochs Insh, Morlich, and Garten.

The Spey Valley is also home to Scotland’s popular ‘whisky trail’. And there are too many fantastic golf courses to list.

The slides, tree-top trails and woodland mazes of Landmark in Carrbridge are a favourite family day out and Aviemore is fast becoming Scotland’s best destination for familiar and brand new extreme sports.
