Description

A stone-built 8-bedroom 17th Century Norman farmhouse and barns, La Plissonnais rests secluded on the edge of a peaceful river valley in southern Normandy. Set in an acre and a half of its own, the property is surrounded by woods and pastures, and features a heated outdoor pool and barbecue. Overlooking the valley of the river Airon, the property is situated about a mile outside of the village of Les Loges-Marchis, near to the market town of Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouet.

We must be doing something right, because each year we typically get 40% repeat visitors, so are often booked up for the summer months 12 months in advance.

UPDATE 2019: La Plissonnais has expanded! We've opened up the entire farmhouse and barns to our guests, but removed the separate cottage. A new 180m² kitchen, and 200m² dining room, plus two separate lounge areas - the library (with fireplace), and the bar/TV lounge. But mostly, we've added three extra ensuite bedrooms.

Our main season starts in April and runs through to the end of September, but we do take weekenders throughout the year.

“Fabulous”

La Plissonnais is a character house with everything you need but is not modern. It is in the countryside with a large garden and pool and is a superb place and position. Jon the owner is very accommodating if you have questions. Restaurants and shops only 7 minutes away in St Hilaire de Harcouet. Would highly recommend.

Response from the owner You couldn't get a better example of "you can't please all of the people all of the time" than a poor review sandwiched between two perfect reviews. It became obvious that you did not appreciate the property on day 2, at which point you were offered a goodwill refund or to find you alternative accommodation. You declined both offers, and despite being explicitly asked to keep an eye on the shower in bedroom 7, failed to report the extensive water damage to the landing. I'm truly sorry that you didn't have a more enjoyable holiday. Thankfully the rest of my summer is filled with repeat visitors, who clearly don't share your opinions.
