“Unforgettable! A gorgeous place with wonderful hosts who spoiled” Peaceful and located in a charming hamlet not far from both the Mont and Pontorson. Our room had a beautiful outlook over the garden and the best shower I've ever seen. Jo and Millsy welcomed us from the outset, showing us around the area and providing excellent food including fresh organic produce from their own garden and plentiful breakfast. The house has been beautifully restored and the hosts treated us more like friends than guests. Stay here. You won't regret it!

BAYEUX- Manoir saint Hubert -1bedroom 2 people - 99 euros / night

Bayeux b&b

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

“What a place!” The pictures on Flipkey don't adequately show what an absolute jewel this place is. Top to bottom and everywhere you turn there is a gorgeous painting, a beautiful rug, lovely furnishings, etc. The large green yard is well shaded and private, and has tables and chairs for relaxation (and a ping pong table which we put to good use). We stayed two nights (two adults; two kids) and wished we'd allowed more time to relax and enjoy the estate. The owner is personable and warm without being overbearing. She customized her offerings to our circumstances (vegetarian diet, for example), and was helpful with recommendations about beaches, restaurants, and so forth. The breakfasts she prepared were perfect and delicious. I'd definitely recommend this manor to others. One note: we found it very difficult to find, as both our GPS and Bayeux locals were not much help. Also, streets in Bayeux aren't always well marked and are sometimes called three or four different things at different points. It's a good idea to map it out well before you go!

3 gites - La Ferme de l'Eglise

La Haye-du-Puits house

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 7

“Great welcome” Amanda and Wil welcomed us to their home and we had a wonderful week. The children loved feeding Lulu the lamb and making friends with the dog and horses, and going out in Wil's cart around the lanes. It was easy to spend time just around the gites but the cycle paths are a great attraction, well maintained and signposted. The beaches are good too and a short drive away. Recommended for families, especially including younger children.

“Glorious Holidays at La Petite Ferme.” We stayed AGAIN at La Petite Ferme, Helen Wilson-Smith's B&B on the Brittany/Normandy border. The B&B is located on a working small farm close to Mont St Michel, a very popular tourist destination with an ancient Abbey and spectacular ramparts. Yet ½ hour away are delightful quiet rural hamlets and villages to explore and savour. We enjoyed cycling through these quaint villages and along the peaceful shady bike path built on the disused railway line beside the Couesnon River. Finding a quiet bar or patisserie for lunch , of course, was a bonus! Our hosts were extremely hospitable and always make sure our stay is memorable. The accommodation is clean and comfortable in the lovely old stone farmhouse. We ate in my favourite room in the house, the lounge: which is tastefully decorated with red furnishings making one feel warm and cosy. We had tasty breakfasts of fresh fruits, yoghurt, pain au chocolat and my favourite: croissants! The table d'hôte is superb; evening meals are first class ... prepared by a chef! We have long lasting memories of glorious holiday(s) at La Petite Ferme!

“3 days in Normandy” The castle was a great location for the Normandy tours we took. Very clean, Bathrooms and Bedrooms all nice and worth the price of admission! Private gate to enter and you can cook in the kitchen or just hire a person to cook. We had 3 great breakfasts for a very reasonable price and we even cooked one night ourselves! We only had 6 adults but the castle could handle many more. Castle has great internet service and flat screen Tv's with DVD players. Very hot showers and you can even use the washing machine and dryer if necessary. Bikes available to ride and a ping-pong table too. It's like your own 4 star hotel! Normandy is definitely a place to put on your "Bucket List" Arnaud whose family owns the place is a wonderful man and met us one evening and showed us the room where the Wwii treaties were signed.

“Great food and hospitality” Su, Peter and their kids is a lovely and very friendly family. Peters cooking is fantastic, do not miss the 5 course dinners! He also did special childrens meals that our kids (8 and 11) enjoyed. We stayed in a spacious family room, very comfortable and great value. I would highly recommend this place - we met couples, family parties and couples with teenagers - everyone enjoyed their stay.

About Normandy

Bordering the English Channel, Normandy is divided into two sub-regions: Upper Normandy and Lower Normandy. Both have their own distinctive appeals, with Upper Normandy being home to some of the region's most scenic natural landscapes and architecture, and Lower Normandy being the site of the historic Allied invasion during the Second World War.

If you're taking a holiday in Normandy, here are some suggestions of things to do:

  • Honfleur: A harbor town in Lower Normandy dating back to the 17th century, Honfleur is home to a world-famous wooden church and some of the most charming streets and neighborhoods in France. It makes an excellent day trip, and its charms may even entice you to stay longer.
  • Giverny: The longtime home of famous impressionist painter Claude Monet, Giverny is a picturesque French town that makes an excellent day trip if you're staying in Upper Normandy.
  • D-Day beaches: If you're in Lower Normandy, tour the beaches where the D-Day invasion occurred.
  • The chalk cliffs of Etretat: Located in Upper Normandy near the town of Etretat, the chalk cliffs form into sweeping natural arches, creating a natural wonder.
  • Les Andelys: A perfectly preserved medieval town, Les Andelys is a must-see for those interested in the region's architectural and historic heritage.

If you visit during the spring or summer, you can partake in cycling in Normandy, France or take advantage of the many Normandy campsites that get you up close and personal with nature.

Getting a Normandy vacation rental is the ideal way to experience the true charms of this beautiful corner of France. Vacation rentals are like having your very own home while you're on holiday; in Normandy, options include everything from villas on the beach and cabins in the countryside to apartments and condos in the city.

Normandy is ideally situated for exploring the English Channel region, including the islands of Guernsey and Jersey. You can also head southeast to Paris and be in the City of Light in a couple short hours.

LISMORE -Carentan,Bayeaux,Caen,Normandy,France
Beautiful apartment in a stunning setting

We just returned from a 5 day stay at Haras Du Ry. Diana met us on arrival and was so kind and helpful in answering all of our questions. We stayed in the 2 bedroom Lismore which gave us plenty of room to spread out. The apartment is beautifully furnished and has everything you need for your stay. The location was perfect for day trips to the Normandy beaches and Mont Saint Michel but is also very relaxing if you just want to sit and enjoy the views. I highly recommend this gite for any traveler.see more

SPACIOUS Family Farmhouse in 3 ACRES with STUNNING VIEWS, EXCLUSIVE USE
Practically perfect in everyway.

We stayed at the farmhouse for 13 glorious days. The house was immaculate. Sheila and Tony were so welcoming and really had thought of everything. From a lovely basket of welcome goodies to all the essentials needed for cooking, to children's toys, an abundance of towels and even bikes to use. Nothing was too much trouble and they did everything they possibly could to make our stay perfect. The house and location was wonderful. So peaceful and relaxing but plenty to keep the children occupied. The pool was fantastic. Great to cook off and a good depth for young children. There are so many things to do nearby or further a field if you prefer to suit all tastes. Mont St Michel was particularly spectacular. We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at Lake Dathee. Warm shallow waters to swim in on a small beach, fantastic views and walks of Waterstones if you prefer. It was good to see the D day landings beaches and local towns. We particularly liked some of the family attractions especially the Enchanted Wood. Such a mix of activities to suit all ages and interest. Zip wires, quad bikes, boat rides on the lake, woodland path with varietals castles each telling their own stories. A great little cafe. Such good value. This was probably one of the best holidays we have had as a family. A perfect balance for us of quiet relaxation and day trips and activities. Sheila and Tony were wonderful and happy to answer any questions we had. We cannot wait to go back. There is still so much too see and do. I would highly recommend this accomodation.see more
