Paris apartment

“Wonderful Studio Apt.” This apt. provided a location that easily accessed a grocery, several cafes, and a walk up the hill to Sacre Couer. Parks were easily within a walk and there were many lovely shops just down the hill. The hosts here are wonderful!

“Unforgettable weekend in Paris” I was apprehensive about booking an apartment on the opposite side of the world, but it was everything that it said it would be and more. The details for checking in we received were great and the location and cleanliness was excellent and we would recommend it to our family and friend and would like to return again someday.

“A delightful apartment in the best location and a very easy way” FlipKey and the owner Eric were very easy to deal with and made everything seamless and pleasant. It was clear every step what was expected. When to pay the deposit and the second payment. How to pay was clear and the system worked smoothly. We also knew how much to bring for a security deposit and what currency to use. Eric was gracious and informative when we met him and by email. Australians hear all sorts of horror stories about the size of European rooms and we were delighted at how spacious the apartment was, including the well appointed and set out bathroom. The pictures on the website were accurate and the furniture, fittings and general amenities exceeded our expectations in comfort and standard. It is a home, not a rented apartment. There was plenty of room for luggage which all travellers have. The location is understated. It is so close to Notre Dame, the trains and the tourist buses. It makes you feel like you are right in the middle of Paris. Yet being at the back of the building with a garden it is quiet and peaceful. Lots of restaurants, cafes and shops within an easy distance. The taxi rank is right outside the door. I loved the location. I loved that it did not feel like a hotel. I loved that it felt French. It was the perfect experience we wanted. It felt like value for money and I would recommend to anyone and would certainly stay here again.

“Live like a Parisian” I stayed in two of Didier's apartments. The first night we stayed in his one bedroom. This is a decent sized apartment with old Parisian charm such as wood floors. It is a good size for 2 to 4 people (second bed is in living room). The next 4 nights we stayed in his' two bedroom apartment in an adjacent building. It is large and spacious (except for the toilet room and bathroom, which are quite small). One large bedroom looks out onto the main street making it a very bright and cheerful room, but is very quiet because of the double glass door/window used to insulate the sound. The second bedroom is a little smaller and has a window on the inner courtyard of the building. The kitchen is modern and has all of the necessities. The location is on the boarder of the 7th and 15th districts, and a few short blocks from the metro. While the location is not in the center of the tourist areas, I enjoyed the location. Didier was a great host and very helpful. The only negative is both apartments could use a good spring cleaning. There is some mold in the bathrooms, but mostly I would define the dirt as every day living sort of dirt. Bottom line I feel like I got a good sense of what it is like to live in Paris. Thanks Didier.

“Everything we wanted in an apt. and more” This is a lovely ground-floor apartment overlooking a sunny, gated Parisian courtyard complete with trees and flowering plants. We've stayed on Rue Cler and found it overrun with tourists. We wanted to experience a more authentic Paris. We found it. The warm neighbors, the scrumptious bakery next door, and the proximity to public transit also enhanced our stay. The decor is warm, comfortable and inviting--in contrast to the many sterile apartments that we have seen listed on the internet. It feels like a home. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would return in a heartbeat.

“There is a wonderful apartment in the heart of Paris that deserves attention.” There is a wonderful apartment in the heart of Paris that deserves attention. We fell in love years ago with Paris and have returned to the city many times to explore its many attractions and to share in the spirit of the city. Usually, when being in Paris we have stayed in hotels. On our last trip this past Spring we were able to rent a delightful apartment in the heart of Paris which provided us with a different perspective of being in Paris.. The apartment is in the 2nd Arrondisement, part of a historic complex of flats that is accessed from a cobble stoned street (rue D’Argout), and by walking through a large wooden blue entry door which brings you to a beautiful courtyard and from there to the apartment. From the moment we entered the apartment we felt at home. Our host, Martine of "Martinn keys 2 Paris" met us promptly as planned and as a kind and genial host made sure we were welcome and comfortable in the apartment.. A shuttered window allowed the mid morning sun to filter into the lovely sitting room. The kitchen was spotless and inviting, with a place for everything we could need, even a juicer to make our morning "citron presse" (freshly squeezed lemon juice).. A delicious hot meal was waiting for us as well as breakfast for the following morning. The bedroom and bathroom were fresh and clean with a lovely bath and shower. There was even a stacked washer and dryer. Martine took the time to make sure we had our bearings, highlighted current exhibitions that we might wish to see, referred us to local bakeries and fresh food stores, restaurants and specialty shops. Even before our arrival she helped me (Win) source a serene yoga studio less than few minutes away from our apartment. (info@ecoledeyogasaraswati-paris.fr) The apartment is located in an area that is filled with the pulse and rhythm of Parisian life throughout out the day and late into the evening. The streets around the apartment, notably Rue Montorgueil and rue Monmarte are inviting and bustling with cafes allowing one to enjoy the eclectic mix of Parisians going about their day, friends enjoying each others company and visitors seizing the moment. At the end of each day of discovering new parts of Paris, behind the great wooden blue door, our lovely apartment waited. The night life of the area may well have continued into the morning hours, but we nevertheless enjoyed the quiet and good night sleep allowing us to be refreshed and ready for a next day. The Marais district (including the Picasso Museum), the Palais Royale, the Louvre Museum with its Jardins des Tuilleries and the Left Bank are all a few steps away from the apartment. Martine thank you once again for your hospitality, friendship and for the genuine care you took to make our stay in Paris so memorable. A la prochaine Till next time, Win and Walter Kuplowsky May/June 2015 Toronto , Canada Martinn + 33 6 23 55 34 82 info@key2paris.com http://www.key2paris.com rue d'argout 75002 Paris

“Truly Wonderful!” This lovely apartment was everything I imagined it would be.. and more. The location was ideal - within walking distance to all the places we had on our list. The place itself exuded the charm of Paris with modern conveniences and the warm, rich ambience of home. It was wonderful coming back at the end of the day to relax here. I would definitely come back again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful place to stay.

“A Great Place To Stay In Paris” Florence, the owner, has a wonderful studio and is easy to work with. This was our first trip to Paris and the location was easy to get to from the EuroStar. The studio is very clean and has modern appliances. The views of The Eiffel Tower & Notre Dame are great. We would definately stay there again.

“Fantastique! Mervielleux!” The location can't be beat. We wandered down the street after a long day & I would make a point of hanging out by the entrance pretending it was my home. I'd wait for other tourists to come by & fiddle with my keys etc. We like to keep the windows open at night- noise level? No problem at all & I like to hear the city at night. Bedrooms (& beds) were very quiet & conducive to a good night's sleep. We went out for meals but also cooked. Kitchen was comfortable & it's easy to put a meal together with all the shops down the block. Bottom line: it's extremely comfortable & is such a great alternative to hotels. I think it's the only way to travel now. Beware you may need to get pulled out kicking & screaming- you won't want to leave I assure you.

“Clean, spacious, nice concierge, and so quiet that the mice must” We had a five night stay in this nicely located apartment a block from the Bastile. Madame andré, the concierge was delightful and most helpful with explaining all about the apartment. The apartment was nicely furnished and the couches and bed were comfortable; the TV and all the appliances were all up to date and worked fine. This unit has two bathrooms, both with a stall shower and a toilet, most unusual for a one bedroom unit. The kitchen is fully furnished, though we didn't do any serious cooking; we never could figure out the microwave, but the washer worked fine. We were but two but the hide a bed couch or couches could accommodate more and the unit is so spacious there is plenty of room for four persons easily. There is no street noise whatsoever, this is a quiet place for sleep and relaxing. This is not the Four Seasons or such, but there is real Parisian charm here for those who want it. Superior onion soup in the small café directly across the boulevard. We would stay here again without question should we be able to return to Paris. In summary, our most memorable place to stay in Paris in our several visits. We recommend it without question. The owner is also very communicative and helpful.

“Forget hotels - stay here!” Booked this as a surprise trip after proposing to my now-fiancée and we absolutely loved it. After searching hotel comparison sites and finding tiny rooms anywhere were £250+ per night, I decided to have a look on Homeaway.co.uk. Reviews for this place were great and the pictures looked amazing - as others have said, this is an absolute bargain compared to much more basic hotel rooms. The pictures don't do the apartment justice - it is incredibly luxurious but also comfortable, with everything you could possibly want provided and offered by the owner. Great for a special occasion or just any trip to Paris really! The location is perfect, just minutes from the Champs-Élysées and around the corner from a Metro station. We rarely used the Metro, with the arc de Triomphe, Louvre, Musée d'Orsay, Eiffel Tower and arguably Notre-Dame within walking distance. A few handy shops nearby - no bakeries/patisseries were open when I looked but it was Easter weekend... some great restaurants nearby, would particularly recommend Le Boeuf Sur Le Toit (details in the welcome pack provided). We were extremely surprised they didn't have a Michelin star and they were extremely welcoming, not a fussy dress code etc. (P.S. I strongly recommend the châteaubriand!) Other things to note are that the building is extremely secure, the owner is very trustworthy & that every need will be catered for during your stay. Wouldn't consider staying anywhere else next time I visit Paris and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. 12 out of 10!

About Ile-de-France

The Ile de France region includes metropolitan Paris and the surrounding area, and is one of the most heavily visited places on Earth. From the grandeur and splendor of the romantic City of Lights to the breathtaking historical attractions and soft pastoral landscapes outside the French capital, an Ile de France vacation offers something for everyone. The Ile de France region is also home to Europe's Disneyland, an ideal day outing for those traveling with children.

The top attractions and activities in the Ile de France region include:

  • Paris: From the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe to famous museums and trendy cafes, the world's most romantic city will not disappoint.
  • Versailles: Louis XIV's opulent palace is located in Versailles, which is just west of Paris and an easy day trip. The sculpted gardens and fascinating history of the palace make visiting very worthwhile.
  • Nogent-sur-Marne: This wealthy town is particularly famous for its collection of riverfront restaurants, where you can enjoy the finest in French cuisine while taking in an enchanting view.
  • Nature excursions: Get outside the city for a day or two to enjoy the underrated charms of the Ile de France countryside on a cycling tour.

During your visit to Ile de France, choose a vacation rental rather than cramming yourself into a crowded hotel. Vacation rentals are more spacious and beautifully furnished with all the amenities of home. Enjoy a more authentic and relaxing vacation by staying in a holiday rental.

Further exploration of France is easy from the Ile de France region. It shares its northern border with historic Normandy, and scenic Burgundy lies to the south.

Great Parisian Apartment

Dominic was a wonderful host. he was responsive to our needs but not intrusive. We stayed for 4 weeks and enjoyed every moment. The apartment is on the boundary of a very chic section of Paris and a more residential one, so there is plenty of things to do and also easy shopping for daily essentials. It is about .5 kilometers north of the Bastille, and about 3 kilometers from the big museums. We mostly walked to the sites, but one can catch the 1 Metro at Bastille and be in the center of Paris in about 20 minutes. Pros: 1. The apartment is on the top floor with windows facing both East and West. It has good views overlooking rooftops and light all day long. You can see the Eiffel tower and Bastille from a usable balcony. 2. It has a cathedral ceiling with old, wood timbers. It feels light and area for having a small footprint. 3. The kitchen is functional for 2. We cooked and ate most of our meals in the apartment. 4. It is located on a side street, so traffic is not heavy. 5. It is an easy trip from Charles de Gaulle Airport: RER B to Garde du Nord. Transfer to the Metro 5 headed towards Place d'Italle. Get off at Breget Sabin, and the apartment is around the corner. Cons: 1. If you are tall, you may bump your head in the sleeping loft. 2. If you have trouble with stairs, this place may not be for. Bon Voyage mon Amie!see more

Very Affordable Apartment in Excellent Location

This apartment is exactly as pictured. It is small but very thoughtfully appointed with a comfortable bed. The kitchen has a lot of amenities including a dishwasher, clothes washer and electric tea kettle as well as stove, microwave and a nice size refrigerator. Jerome the nephew of Francoise met us promptly at 1 and explained things. He also made a quick repair when a leak developed in the dishwasher. This apartment worked out very well and I would be happy to return.see more

Quiet yet central escape in Paris

This quiet apartment was in a nice part of Paris. Cute shops, restaurants. The bed was wonderfully cozy. Elisa was so kind. She showed me where everything was. She even offered us the opportunity to check out late if no one was checking in the next day. The apartment itself has a nice warm cozy feel about it, but offered space and privacy Feels very much like a home. The couch was comfy. Nice eclectic decor, including a row of school desks. There was nice closet space for you to hang and store your clothes. The only thing I would caveat is if you're tall, the shower may be an issue for you. It wasn't for me and my son; we're both around 5'8".see more
Flat Bastille - Marais
Great location, clean, comfortable, and spacious Paris flat

Virginia's flat is very spacious, with a huge living and dining area. Everything was clean and well-appointed. Virginie, Luc, and Quentin were receptive, communicative, and friendly. It has great access to the Metro, as well as walking access to restaurants, shopping, patisseries, and more. The reservation went very smoothly, and I'd gladly recommend the property to anyone needing a great place to stay in Paris. So the flat itself is excellent. My only gripe may be more of a personal preference or expectation rather than anything about the flat itself. My wife and I are used to staying in dedicated rentals, though Virginie's flat is clearly usually lived in by another family -- family pictures on the walls, personal items around, and no access to most cupboards and cabinets. It just makes the apartment a little less than welcoming. It's also located on a fairly noisy street, but these are minor complaints. If you go in with the correct expectations, you won't be disappointed.see more

Charming apartment in a great location

The studio apartment is the perfect size for a couple and we liked that it is in a clean, brightly lit building on a quiet side street. Nearby in the Place du Marche St Honore are many restaurants - French, Spanish, Thai, and organic, - to name a few. Great location within walking distance of the major museums. Would definitely return!see more

Great host and an excellent location

Location is excellent and very convenient. Various metro & bus stops surrounding the apartment. A nice, easy 15-20 min walk to quite a few attractions ( Eiffel, Les Invalides etc ). Numerous shops around the apartment as the neighborhood is vibrant and lively so you really do feel like a part of the city during your stay. Didier is very communicative and accommodating that made us feel very welcomed. Kids had a blast as well so it definitely is family friendly. No elevator in the building and even though there aren't many steps, the stairway is spiral so it might present a slight problem with strollers if the kids are younger ( mine are 7 & 4 ). Amenities are a bit on a smaller side but it wasn't that big of an inconvenience for us and it basically is everything you need and want for your vacation if you want to feel the pulse of the city. It wasn't our first time in Paris and when we do visit again, we'll definitely be back. Thanks Didier! Best regards, Christiansee more
