“Beautiful, completely remodeled farmhouse with all the modern amenities you could want!!”
This house was amazing!!! I cannot think of one thing I would change and would love to go back!! It has beautiful views, was private, serene, had a completely modern interior and was impeccably decorated. I do not think the pictures on the website do it justice. The kitchen was had everything we needed to cook lovely meals, the bathrooms were large and well stocked with lots of towels and toiletries, there were several seating areas outside and three living room/family rooms inside to hang out in, plus a large laundry room (huge bonus when staying for an extended length if time). In the evening we sat by the outdoor fireplace and ate our meals at the dining table next to it, enjoying the wine that we bought at a local winery that afternoon (plenty of fresh herbs growing in the garden that we used too!). The view from the pool was lovely, looking out on the nearby hills. The grounds of the house were amazing too--we enjoyed our morning coffee on the patio shaded by wisteria vines. Days were spent exploring nearby villages, wine tasting, and sitting by the pool. It is also a just short train ride from Rome (around 1.5 hrs). A lovely vacation!!!

“Heaven may be in Umbria”
We stayed for a week in June - myself, husband, my parents, brother and sister-in-law. We got a little bit lost on the way to Fondo le Teglie, but once we arrived we could not have been more thrilled. The house and property are truly beautiful. We used the pool everyday, at dinner on the front terrace in the evenings, followed by stargazing and firefly-watching late into the nights. The kitchen was perfect for our group of foodies - had everythign we could think of and more. We even used the outdoor pizza oven and had the lovely Signora Dina come grill fish in the outdoor kitchen. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable - waking up to the small of herbs and birdsongs is not too shabby!. And the bathrooms are quite luxurious. The vegetable garden was a nice surprise. We made salads of lettuce, radishes and spring onions everyday. We found the people in the nearby villages to be charming! Would recommend a visit to Sonia's gelato shop in Avigliano Umbro as well as dinner at the castle is Sismano, I Due Papi. Also would recommend a wine tour with Mark and Giselle of Gusto (http://www.gustowinetours.com/Gusto_Wine_Tours/Gusto_Wine_Tours.html) It was a once in a lifetime experience - not like any other wine tour you've ever been on. Thank you Susan for creating such a special place in Umbria and sharing it with us! It was hard to leave...hope to make it back someday.
