“Best Spot in Ubud... Maybe even Bali!”
We loved Villa Via (and Villa Jepun and Hibiscus). Yes we stayed in all three villas on four separate stays in 6 weeks of travel in Bali. We travelled all over the island and continued to return to the beauty, calm, cleanliness and privacy of the villa's at Devi's Place. Villa Via was our favourite of all three. The beautiful clean kitchen allowed to do much of our cooking on our own, and when we didn't feel like it, the lovely staff coordinated food delivery for us. We also had the option to order from Murdi, part of the Devi's Place team who made amazing home cooked Indonesian food, and some delicious western dishes too. The staff go above and beyond, always friendly, available and very helpful. We loved the views of the rice fields and our early morning walks. We were on a working holiday and appreciated the reliable internet (hard to find on the island). For $5/day you can grab a motorbike that they have available for guests and go explore Ubud. The proximity to Intuitive Flow Yoga, Yellow Flower Cafe, Sari Organik and alchemy were great. We loved the short walk to Cantika Zest for the best spa treatments of anywhere in Ubud, and also treated ourselves to massages in the villa too. We left three other properties ahead of schedule to return to Devi's Place. It truly is a gem, incredible value for the experience and comfort. It was clean, no air fresheners (which are everywhere in most villas), great water pressure, beautiful and private salt-water pool, comfortable sitting area and stocked with Dvds. This place was absolutely perfect!
“lovely villa and staff”
Excellent service, very friendly staff. We stayed 4 nights in Villa Via. Every morning they come to the villa to prepare breakfast, with delicious fresh fruit salad,as soon as we opened the gate. Villa is new, clean, spacious and well designed. Walled garden with private swimming pool and sunloungers plus a a highrise roofed terrace with view to the ricefields. We could easily "live" there for a longer period. It is quite a walk to the centre of Ubud (about 40 minutes), to the nearast warung is about 10-15 minutes by foot, but you can also rent motorbikes.
“Beautiful Villa Getaway in great area”
Villa Via managed to surpass our already pretty high expectations in every way possible with its wonderful service, great location and of course, the amazing, beautiful new villa itself. The Villa is the kind of place you don't want to leave as every detail has been thoughtfully curated to make your stay there amazing. Besides the basic ammenities such as cooking equipment, clean towels and cool furniture, there is a TV with a DVD library, a big speaker to connect your ipod/iphone to, a library of books and magazines and even a rice viewing terrace. Suffice to say we had a great stay here. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, breakfast was great as was the lunches we sometimes ordered and the private pool was lovely. The location is a bit far from central Ubud (ten minute cab ride probably) but super close to Penestanan which, to be honest, we liked way better than Ubud prober. Quieter, super nice organic/vegan restaurants, rice fields and no traffic. It felt great to come back from a day in Ubud to our quiet retreat. Anyway, can't recomend this place enough!
If having a private chilled-out stay with a friendly Balinese host away from the hustle and bustle of Central Ubud and surrounded by lush green rice paddies is at the top of your Bali Ubud bucket list then a stay at Devi's Place will be sure to meet your needs. We couldn't have asked for a better start to our 2 week holiday and will be recommending these modern, fully equipped and serviced villas to all our friends. Janni, Ketut and the team made sure we had everything we needed which included the most delicious take-a-way Indian dosa on our first night, scooters for our local adventures and our breakfast each morning. The local village of Penestanan is still a place of peace, tranquility and daily life and the Chantika Spa 5 minutes walk up the road treated us to one of the best massage and scrub treatments we've had with their own range of organic products and a gorgeous view of the rainforest like gardens. Devi's place is also close to a string of healthy vegetarian friendly organic cafés and the intuitive flow yoga centre where you can pose and breathe in a uniquely positioned yoga space overlooking the surrounding tree tops. Hard not to let go! We will definitely include a stay at Devi's Place on our next trip to Bali...
“a unique private location”
From the welcome we received on arrival with Janni, to the attention from all the staff over the next few days, we could not ask for a nicer holiday. The cottage was really well designed with excellent indoor/outdoor flow from the lounge - and also bathroom. Murdi provided us with lovely breakfasts and lunches, and Ketut and his staff were very obliging organising a car with driver or scooters for us when we requested them. Because we were staying only a few kms from Ubud, it was no problem getting there to look at the huge variety of shops, eat at their delicious restaurants or do grocery shopping. It was lovely having our own private pool which, because of the warm climate, we used frequently each day. We also enjoyed watching the sun go down over the paddy fields in the evening.
From our welcome on arrival to the courtesy all the staff extended to us over the few days, we could not have asked for more. We need to thank Murdi for the breakfasts each day and the lunches when we had them. Our cottage was really well designed and spotlessly clean each day. I especially loved the open living area and also the partial-open bathroom!! Ketut and his staff were very kind organising cars or scooters for us when required. Being only a few kms from Ubud, it was no problem going there to look at the large variety of shops, eat at their lovely restaurants or do grocery shopping. It was really nice to have our own private pool which, because of the beautiful climate, we used several times a day. We also enjoyed watching the sun go down over the paddy fields.
Villa Via is a beautiful place to stay. The service is amazing and the villa is stunning. We loved staying in this location as it was tranquil, yet close enough to Ubud town and all local amenities. We loved staying here so much, that we came back at the end of our time in Bali and stayed for a couple more days. This was definitely our favourite accommodation of our holiday in Bali. The staff are so kind and helpful, they make you feel right at home :-) We were so thrilled with our stay and can't wait to go back!!
“Beautiful Villa with all you could ask for.”
I spent 3 weeks in Villa Via and felt very much at home, this villa has been finished to perfection. A credit to Jannys very talented son. The kitchen is such a pleasure to cook in not many people cook when in Bali but this is something I love to do,great cooktop. The pavilion is such a great place to sit in the morning to watch the locals go about their day and late afternoon you can watch the sun go down. The pool is a great size pool. This would be a great place for a honeymoon as you have all the privacy you want but just a call away if you need anything. If you need something to eat you just message Murdi and she will bring it to your villa. Aris takes great pride in keeping the villa clean and brings fresh linen every few days. I stayed at villa Via on my own and felt safe at all times, would recommend villa Via to anyone. Just Beautiful.
“Peaceful and private!”
I stayed in the beautiful Villa Via for a week in July, it was a hassle free and relaxing stay. The staff were wonderful, quietly cleaning the villa every day and very helpful. The rice viewing/ drinks terrace was a gorgeous spot to relax at the end of each day and the pool is only a few meters from the house - great for cooling off after being in town. Highly recommended - I'll definitely be back next trip!
