Description from owner

Description

WE NOW HAVE A PRE PAID PARKING SPACE ALL YEAR ROUND AT BRADBURYS GARAGE ( 5 min walk away from cottage )

A traditional, stone built,19th Century fisherman style cottage located just a stone's throw away from the beach and just off the high street where there are lots of popular restaurants, bars and clubs on your doorstep (Peak Season)

Arranged on four floors the cottage is furnished in a contemporary style, has two bedrooms, bathroom, well equipped kitchen and useful utility room with a cosy, basement lounge leading out onto an enclosed courtyard area.

The cottage is an ideal base for walkers, those seeking water based pursuits, family beach holidays or just those seeking a romantic getaway.

It provides a great holiday base from which to enjoy the nearby sandy beaches and the fabulous surrounding countryside. With stunning hill and coastal paths to be followed from the doorstep, and the nearby cliffs offering stunning panoramic views of the Cader Idris Mountains and of the bay below, this lovely Barmouth cottage has plenty to offer all year round.

We will consider short breaks in off peak season,or peak season in some circumstances.,just contact us for availability etc..

Please note there are features in this quirky cottage which may not suit everyone.

The second bedroom is in the attic space and is accessed via a space saving paddle staircase which may be difficult for the very young or infirm to negotiate.

Not suitable for under fives on their own in the attic bedroom unless with an adult who can assist them ......

We do accept dogs ……up to 2 small only or 1 large

Due to the nature of the property the basement ceiling is low .

We have a small courtyard at rear of property .

It is securely enclosed but it is overlooked by the neighboring properties.

We do accept dogs ( up to 2 small only )

We now ,unfortunately, have to ask guests for a deposit on booking due to problems we have encountered recently with guests mis treating our property and not behaving responsibly .

The deposit is held on our behalf by Holiday Lettings and we don't have access to it .It is promptly paid back to the Guests unless we are forced to file a claim due to a Guest leaving the property in an extremely bad condition .

We feel that this is the only way to attract responsible people to our cottage .

This is our new current cleaning regime to help reduce the risk of cross-contamination due to Coronavirus...

All our cleaning staff will wear PPE for their own safety and for those of the guests.

When our housekeeper has finished cleaning and sanitising a room they will close the door and disinfect the doorknob. This is also an indication to housekeeper and any other members of their cleaning team that the room has been completed. Once sanitised, they will not re-enter this space.

Cleaning and sanitising are two separate steps, and it’s important to do these both in the correct order to keep Cottage virus free to the best of our knowledge and ability and keeping everybody safe in the process .

Cleaning

Cleaning is when we remove germs and dirt from surfaces. For example, using a soapy sponge to wipe down a kitchen worktop or hob.

Sanitising

Sanitising is when we use chemicals to reduce the number of germs and bacteria. For example, spraying a chemical disinfectant on high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs.

We need to ensure and remind Guests to disinfect keys before placing them back in Key Box for next Guests to use ......

Many Thanks

“A home away from home”

“Conveniently located”

Reviewed 26 May 2023

A convenient location for public transport, costal and other walking, cafes, shops and pubs. Interesting museum short walk away. Cottage well equipped except no washing machine. (Launderette a short walk away but the opening hours did not suit our schedule). In practice we only used the middle two floors. as the stairs are steep. Owner always responded to queries promptly. We did miss free WiFi. Would be tempted to return for walking festival but likely the lack of washing machine and WiFi would influence us to look elsewhere.

Response from the owner Arden House is the perfect location for all your Holiday needs with close proximity to everything, but, unfortunately comes at a small price in terms of parking. There are places to park ,however, we can’t guarantee you will get a space very close by to the cottage (as we don’t have a driveway) We are seriously considering renting a permanent parking space at the Church Hall on St Johns Hill and charge a relatively small fee for it and then at least it would be available to our guests all year round and avoid the hassle of trying to find a parking space especially in very busy peak times like Easter,Summer and Bank Holiday periods etc...
