“First Rate...Excellent Staff, We'll be Back...Highyly Recomnended”

Reviewed 12 Jun 2015

We stayed at Villa Kaira Estate for a week in late May. Stunning large beachfront location and the photos on the website don't do it justice to be honest. Wayan the chef was sensational and was sensitive to a couple of guests who were fussy eaters, all his food was delicious. Definitely do the seafood bbq. Rest of the staff were super friendly and helpful and special mention to the driver Ketut who drove us everywhere and was very knowledgeable. He booked various restaurants and activities for our group too so it was all made super easy. We made use of the Canggu Club membership with the excellent water park and bounce trampoline park, our kids of various ages loved it! The booking process was efficient and easy, Craig was very helpful in installing some extra beds for the younger kids who all wanted to be in the same bedroom. All in all, a fantastic stay and we plan to return same time next year, we all can't wait. Thank you!

“Awesome wedding venue and retreat”

Reviewed 27 Mar 2014

I found the staff absolutely amazing, the manager and assistant manager they were awesome in ensuring that everything went absolutely amazing. The house staff were efficient and unobtrusive providing 5 star service. I cannot rave enough about the personal chef. He prepared a meal for 12 people on short notice that was absolutely amazing and one of the best meals I have ever enjoyed in Bali. The drivers were there promptly and on time when requested and provided comforting travel throughout the stay. Thew owner of the Villa Craig Steeples was prompt with responses and provided exactly what was offered. Beautiful Villa luxurious, a perfect spot for our wedding. I highly recommend Villa Kaira to anyone.

“Beautiful Bali vacation”

Reviewed 10 Jan 2014

Positives: - beautiful sunsets views, lovely property and decor. - wonderful staff (in particular, Wayan, our chef, was very organized and talented. Kadek, our driver, was an expert at navigating the crazy traffic and got us everywhere safely) - great food and access to modern sports/fitness club. - location closer to local Balinese culture and people. - very easy to book in house massages, manicures, pedicures. - wifi available Negatives: - air conditioning only available in bedrooms. The main area were, at times, too humid and uncomfortable. - healthy population of ravenous mosquitoes (bring repellent!) - more electrical outlet adapters would be helpful.

Response from the manager Thank you for your kind words and review. I've already passed your comments onto the staff and really enjoyed your group staying at Villa Kaira. The sunsets are truly breathtaking! The villa is in an enviable location being absolute beachfront on an exclusive, secure estate but very close to all the delights of central Seminyak with its excellent boutique shops, restaurants and nightlife! Wayan is an exceptional chef and we’re very lucky to have him and we ensure all our drivers have a good knowledge of the island, restaurants, etc and speak good English too. Yes, the Canggu Club is a great sports and recreational facility for people of all ages. We do suppy insect repellant at the villa as we can’t escape mosquitos on a tropical island but being next to the sea does we mean we suffer less than other areas. The villa is architecturally designed as a beachfront villa. With its huge atrium and impressive spiral staircase leading onto the substantial, open kitchen/dining/living area it is designed as a very social space and also for the constant cooling sea breezes to flow throughout the main house. There is very good AC in all the bedrooms, Entertainment Room and gym. We continually replace the plug adaptors and there’s a good supply in there currently. We look forward to your return to Villa Kaira in the very near future. Best wishes Craig

“relaxing get-away”

Reviewed 10 Jan 2014

pros: gracious staff and drivers, wonderful personal chef who prepared daily home-cooked meals, gorgeous landscape surrounded by nature and the sound of water, open floor plan, spacious gathering spaces--never felt too crowded, *spectacular* sunset views, the cabana by the pool was perfect for relaxing and sharing a meal cons: some of the aC in the rooms didn't work (but people were promptly sent to fix this problem), the upstairs guest bedroom's bath occasionally smelled of sewage the people and gorgeous landscape made this vacation rental a wonderful experience.

Response from the manager Thank you for your kind review, I'm glad you also agree that Villa Kaira is a truly magical and special place with the most stunning sunsets. My favourite place of all is in the upstairs daybed/cabana although the one around the pool is amazing too! We do have engineers on hand to fix any issues at the villa quickly and efficiently. We have replaced two of the ACs with new units. We have resolved the smell in the guest bathroom. We sincerely hope you return to Villa Kaira in the very near future. Best wishes Craig

“Absolutely Memorable Time!”

Reviewed 15 Dec 2013

I rented Villa Kaira from 24 Nov till 4 Dec 2013 and had an absolutely memorable time. The villa was a pleasure to stay in, the staff equally as accommodating. We all had a holiday we will not forget. Thank you for everything. The owner Craig was both professional and courteous to deal with. We will definately be recommending the villa to any friends visiting Bali in the future. Kind regards, Sean Coughlan

Response from the manager Hi Sean It was an absolute pleasure having your group stay with us. Thank you very much for your kind words and feedback. Please do get in touch the next time you visit Bali as we always give returning clients a good deal as a thank you for their continued business. Kind regards Craig

“Beautiful Villa and amazing Staff”

Reviewed 10 Oct 2013

Hi Craig, I just wanted to touch base with and let you know what a fantastic time was had by all at Villa Kaira & Bali. Bali was never on my radar as a place to visit, but we had such a fantastic time, we are all wanting to go back. The Villa was amazing, the staff warm, friendly and courteous, and the weather was fabulous (although you have no control of the weather!) A special mention goes to Kadek, who was just great. He took us where we wanted to go, suggested ideas of places to go, organised and booked everything for us, he is a special person with a lovely personality. Another special mention is to Wyan. He was also wonderful. The food was amazing! It was just lovely to go on holidays and not have to worry about anything, food, shopping, cleaning, washing etc. Thank you for letting stay in your wonderful villa with wonderful people. We are looking forward to coming back in September 2015. I don't know if we can book that far in advance, but at this stage that is the plan. Thank you

Response from the manager Dear Kate It was a pleasure hosting you at Villa Kaira. Thank you so much for your kind words about the villa and the staff. I've passed on your comments to the staff who loved looking after you all. All guests do rave about the quality of the cooking and Wayan the chef. We do recruit and train all our staff very carefully to ensure they have a very customer service and guest focussed approach. Kadek the driver is very special and very knowledgeable about the beautiful island of Bali. We very much look forward to your staying with us again in 2015 and, if you have dates in mind, please let me know and we can provisionally hold them for you in our 2015 calendar. We very much look forward to welcoming you to Bali again in the not too distant future. Kind regards Craig Villa Kaira

“Para Para Para-dise!”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2013

I had to laugh when they said it was a villa, more like a mansion were the size of the living and bedrooms, that were clean and very well kept. From the upstairs bedrooms and pool area are great views of the multiple surf breaks between Canggu, Brawa heading north to Echo Beach, including the awesome west coast bali sunset! The cool thing about this location is that it's quiet and has a village feeling, where our villa driver was always ready to take us 5-10minutes drive into Seminyak where all the cool restaurants, bars, clubs, spas and shopping are located. We had 1 day where the weather wasn't great so we stayed in the villa enjoying some food cooked by our chef, cracked a few bottles of red that were stored in the wine fridge and kicked back watching movies in the theater room and playing snooker (I can understand a pool table in a villa, but a full sized snooker table!?!?). It was a shame no one knew how to play the piano as there is a grande centre piece in the living room!

“Two villas - Kaira and Nova. Perfect accommodation for an extend”

Reviewed 8 Jul 2013

Craig and his team at Villa Kaira and Villa Nova could not have done anything more to make this one of the best family holidays we have had. The four sisters and our husbands and children have holidayed together many times but all agree this was the best. Some had been to Bali before, but not everyone. Craig employs fantastic Balinese people to provide the services for the week including cooking, cleaning and driving. We gave the house staff a menu each morning and some money for food and then each evening ate the best meals around - fresh and expertly prepared. Then the cleaning up was all done for us - allowing us time to spend with each other and enjoy our children's company - what a treat! Nyoman and Ketut in the kitchen were exceptionally helpful and accommodated the many breakfast requests for pancakes, omelettes and eggs each morning with patience and calm. Kadek, the driver was also our 'tour guide' and we relied heavily on his recommendations. He was exceptionally generous and patient and shared his insights into Balinese culture, always answering our (probably annoying) questions. Kadek was particularly keen for us to see beyond the 'Kuta' version of Bail. He recommended various places to go. Although there were plenty of 'tourist' items on the agenda - Waterbom, white water rafting and monkey forest to name a few, Kadek is only to happy to recommend some of the more 'authentic' Balinese experiences that may be a bit more off the beaten track. To get anywhere involves long stints in the van with the drivers so luckily they didn't mind our curious questions. We had not expected the drive into Seminyak and Kuta to take such a long time (depending on time of day, public holiday etc it can take upwards of an hour to Seminyak or two to Kuta). Although the teenagers would probably have preferred to be closer to the nightclubs, the adults were quite happy to be that bit further removed.

Response from the manager Hi Jane Thank you so much for your lovely review and it was such a pleasure hosting your families at Villa Kaira and the next door Villa Nova on the Berawa Beach Estate. We do invest a lot of time and take pride in hiring excellent staff and training them to deliver first class customer service to our guests. It sounds like you made the best of what Bali has to offer and there really is so much fun for all the family, whatever their ages. Having the Suzuki APV people carrier vehicle and English speaking driver included in the rate always proves very popular. The drive to Seminyak is usually 10-15 minutes and Kuta around 30 minutes so I can only assume you must have got stuck in a traffic jam from an accident or road closure. The traffic around Kuta can be congested hence why a lot of people like to stay in Seminyak or with us on the Berawa Beach Estate in North Seminyak. The opening of the new dual carriageway underpass and also the toll road near the airport really is improving the road system here in Bali. We do hope you choose to stay with us again when you or any of your family members come to Bali in the future, we always offer returning clients a good deal. Kind regards Craig

“Balinese service and facilities an abiding memory”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2013

Villa Kaira has all the physical attributes of Balinese beachfront luxury accommodation. But the attribute that was most meaningful to our large extended family group was the demeanor of the staff, in particular the driver Kapek and cook Waya. They allowed us to explore Balinese culture with gentleness, warmth and unobtrusive friendliness. The owners were professional and responsive. We have no reservations in recommending Villa Kaira.

Response from the manager Thank you Professor Geffen for your very kind review. I've passed on your comments and feedback to the staff and they said what fun they had looking after your lovely family. It was an absolute pleasure having your extended family stay with us and we very much look forward to your return to Villa Kaira in the future. Best wishes Craig

“Fantastic Villa - will stay here again!!”

Reviewed 6 Jun 2013

We have just come home from spending 9 days at Villa Kaira and we miss it already. The house and gardens are beautiful. The kids loved feeding the fish every morning. Wayan our chef was always accommodating to our requests and the food was always cooked to perfection. I wanted to take him home. Cadek our driver was excellent too always smiling, helpful and has fantastic english. The other staff were great as well. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this villa to anyone. I hope that next time we go to Bali we can get enough people together so we can stay here again.

Response from the manager Dear Jade It was a pleasure hosting you at Villa Kaira last week. Thank you so much for your kind words about the villa and the staff. I've passed on your comments to the staff who loved looking after you all. All guests do rave about the quality of the cooking and the chef and we do recruit and train all our staff very carefully to ensure they have a very customer service and guest focussed approach. We very much look forward to your staying with us again and remember, we also exclusively manage both Villa Nova (3 bedrooms) and Villa La Mer (4 bedrooms) next to Villa Kaira on the Berawa Beach Estate should your group be a little smaller next time and the 5 bedroom Villa Kaira is a little too large. We very much look forward to welcoming you to Bali again in the not too distant future. Kind regards Craig Villa Kaira
