“Home away from Home”
We cannot fault this apartment. Aude was there to greet us and explain the layout /facilities of the apartment. There was even a local bottle of wine and cold water waiting for us. She booked us a restsurant for our first night, Le epicerie, where we had the best meal ever. It was so good having a balcony so we could have a quiet drink in the afternoon after a hectic day of sightseeing. We also appreciated the washing machine and all the basic pantry items supplied. If like us you catch a taxi from the railway station to the apartment, dont be put off by the poorer areas of the city that you pass through and the graffiti that seems quite common in the streets around the apartment. When you finally climb the stairs to the first floor apartment and open the door it is like walking into an oasis. The apartment is very convenient to the centre of the old town and the tourist office. We would definitely return again.
“Charming "landlady" but definitely not a four person apartment”
Lovely location inside the ramparts of the old city. It's a nightmare if you need to park near the apartment and certainly not for the elderly or infirm. Although it does sleep four people, it is only really a "one bedroom" apartment. Also, there is no dividing door between the bedroom and the lounge. The other sleeping accommodation is a pull down sofa bed in the lounge which has to be made up every night and put away every morning. Not particularly satisfactory but we coped well. However, the friendliness and helpfulness from the owner made up for any deficiencies in the apartment. We really enjoyed our holiday and the overall experience of avignon and Provence.
“Pleasant convenient base for western Provence”
Owner is very pleasant and efficient. Apartment is quiet and convenient as well as clean and roomy enough. The outdoor patio is a big plus.
“A total delight”
We rented a lovely little apartment from a fabulous couple who live a block away. They stock it with every amenity and consideration you could want, and basically want it as comfortable as if they were living there themselves. They clearly take great pride in it and make the extra effort. I mean, to the point where all I could suggest in our wrap up conversation was that the carving knives be sharpened. That's a great apartment. We had a totally private balcony facing east (sunrise/moonrise), and a fine little kitchen we filled with goodies from provençal markets. The location, in the SE corner of the old city, is ideally located across the funky Rue des Teintnuriers, which connects directly to the main market - Les Halles. All the appliances worked perfectly, and there were loads of plates, glasses and tableware. A total delight.
“très grande satisfaction”
situation exceptionnelle, confort bien éttudié, accueil plus qu'excellent!! on reviendra...si dieu nous prête vie!!
“Supreme comfort with a lovely verandah”
My wife and I were stunned at the size of the unit.We had just had a lovely week in Paris but the unit there was very cramped.Every little detail to make our stay memorable was taken care of.We loved avignon and hope to return and stay in the same unit. The owners ,a young couple, were delightful.Thankyou and wll done avignon
“Best apartment during our entire European trip!”
We actually booked the owners' other apartment, however a day before our arrival they informed us that the apartment had water damage due to a burst geiser. They offered this apartment, and what a wonderful experience! The owner (Aude) was there to meet us personally and "check us in". They went out of their way to make our stay pleasant, we were even given a bottle of wine! The apartment is cosy, beautifully decorated, clean with all new modern amentities and equipment. The terrace was a real treat; we enjoyed relaxing there with a glass of wine after exploring avignon and Provence during the time we spent there - we will definately return. Well done aude!!
“Cosy, charming place and excellent hosts”
We could not have dreamt of a better place to stay in avignon. Although we had a quick visit to avignon, the city is worth going back to. For sure we want to stay over at aude and Simone's beautiful apartment again. They took care of us, gave valuable hints and tips of things to visit in avignon and surroundings. The apartment is very cosy, super clean and has got a charming interior. Aude and Simone thought of everything: phone, TV, wifi internet, airco, fully equipped kitchen... This is a really recommendable place! Monika and Gery
“Cosy home away from home.”
We totally loved this bright and cosy little place that has all the comforts of home, and furnished with French flair. Our hosts aude and Simon were warm, welcoming and helpful, thoughtfully providing breakfast provisions for our first day and a very thorough information pack, which included restaurant recommendations (by other guests) and a list of simple French words and phrases - which we put to good use. The apartment's location is fantastic - within 15 minutes walk to the bus and train stations, the city center, tourist office and Papal Palace - the main tourist attraction in avignon. We were able to easily explore the surrounding towns by bus and train. There are several good bistros and restaurants nearby, and a very good Indian restaurant right next door!
