Description

Our stunning private villa is set in a large, lush tropical garden in the rice fields, a sanctuary for you to enjoy, a perfect setting for a honeymoon or perhaps a romantic interlude with your loved one.

Villa Damai was built with devotion and attention to detail. It is a unique studio-apartment-style bungalow put together with love and care, and with coolness and comfort in mind. Built on 600m2 land, the villa has a large terrace along two sides where you can start your day with a substantial breakfast while gazing at the spectacular manicured tropical gardens. As the day warms up, you can swim in the sparkling pool, then rest or read a book either on the daybed on the terrace or in the bale. This is your villa to enjoy in complete luxury and seclusion – a perfect hideaway for either a single or a couple.

The villa consists of a large airy room with a 40ft cathedral ceiling. The TV/DVD area has a large comfortable day-bed to curl up on to watch TV or any of the hundred or so DVDs provided. The bed is a king-size four poster with mosquito net. The kitchen is fully-equipped with a four-burner cook top, large fridge/freezer, and microwave oven. There is a formal six-seat dining suite, a sitting area with two comfortable chairs, and a computer nook with excellent, unlimited free, fast Wi-Fi access, and a small library.

The windows are fly-screened and the villa has large glass sliding doors along the front which can be closed and locked to the outside world at night creating an inner sanctum as an alternative living area to the terrace. There are four large ceiling fans within the villa plus three extractor fans to keep the air circulating, preventing warm air from lingering in the room. The large terrace also has three ceiling fans; however, you may find the lovely cool breezes in Penestanan, are enough to keep you cool.

The villa has a large airy bathroom with a separate toilet, a beautiful big shower area, and another fan and exhaust fan.

If security is a concern to you, there is a safe for your valuables and both the villa doors and front gate are lockable. There is a Security Guard patrolling at night.

There is an elevated 4m2 beautifully carved Timorese-style balè (gazebo) with an alang-alang (thatched) roof. The balѐ has a daybed and is a perfect place for reading, relaxing, meditating, and enjoying sundown drinks.

The pool is 10m long plus there is an outside shower and toilet for your convenience.

Villa Damai is 200m down a concrete path off Jalan Penestanan Kelod. Its location ensures peace and privacy whilst only being a 20min walk (or 5min taxi ride) from Ubud central. There is a diverse range of restaurants and warungs within walking distance, and most will deliver to your door for a small tip should you wish to just kick back in the evenings after a busy day. Penestanan has everything you would need without venturing very far - including spas, massages, artists' studios and galleries, and there is light entertainment most evenings. (If you like late-night clubbing, however, you will need to find this in Ubud central). There are a few convenience shops in the area, and a few cosy coffee venues where you can meet fellow travellers over a cappuccino.

Upik, our villa staff, will serve you a most delicious breakfast every morning on the terrace before cleaning the villa, tidying the garden and balѐ, and looking after the pool and two fishponds daily. Made, our gardener, comes once a week to keep the garden looking beautiful.

How do damage deposits work?
