“Love CasaCoony! 2 more trips planned for 2014!”
The description of "Beautiful Colonial, Peaceful and Elegant" is spot on. This is a great place to stay in San Miguel. I have vacationed and stayed here on 3 previous occasions. The home has modern amenities without losing the charm of Old Mexico. There is even a great movie library for lazy days or nights. The owners are diligent about making improvements each year. It is an easy walk to a large grocery store and an adorable restaurant with memorable ginger margaritas. You can walk, cab or take the city bus to town center. There is a bus stop less than a block away. The bus is cheap and a great cultural experience. A few more weeks and I am on my way back! Can't wait!
“A Great Vacation”
I rented this house for a month and enjoyed every day of our stay. The house is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen has all the amenities and the three bedrooms are large and very comfortable. You are only a few blocks (easy walking distance) from Mega, a super store that has all you could wish to purchase. If you don't want to walk anywhere, there are plenty of very affordable taxis available. The house is only 1 block from a bus stop. We took the bus to the Jardin (center of town) evey day for 5 pesos, about 48 cents in us dollars. There are also several banks and restaurants across from Mega. This is a beautiful home, what you see in the pictures in exactly what you get. There is also a lovely lady who comes weekly to clean the house and do dishes and laundry. You are asked to give a weekly tip of $50 pesos which is less than $5 american dollars - well worth the price. This is a home I would gladly recommend to anyone who wished to stay in San Miguel de allende.
“The best vacation rental home you could hope for.”
This vacation home is truly a 'home away from home.' Diane has thought of everything you might need or want, from the basics like kitchen and bathroom supplies to extras like two cell phones, a laptop computer with wireless internet connection, to a library of Dvd's and books, cable TV, and weekly cleaning service. The home is located in a quiet area, and it's bright with lots of windows and natural light. The furnishings are top quality as well as the appliances, etc. All up to us standards and more than you might expect to find in the heart of central Mexico. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to stay short or long term in San Miguel. Security is also top notch with an intercom system into the house from the street. Transportation is also easy to obtain and close by with a choice of bus or taxi, and the Mega grocery store is within walking distance. We loved our stay at CasaCoony in San Miguel de allende and know you would also.
“Lovely home in a beutiful city.”
This is a spacious three bedroom home in a great quite neighborhood. The location is perfect for walking or hoping on the bus to get to downtown San Miguel de Allende. The house has a beautiful kitchen with everything you could need for preparing meals. We would definitely stay there again.
“Great House in San Miguel Neighborhood”
My family and I rented this house for 3 weeks in May of 2009. My husband and I have three children, a 4 year old 3 year old, and 8 week old newborn (when we stayed). This house was perfect for us - the accomodations are even nicer than the pictures online. The kitchen is spacious and extremely well stocked. The grocery store is only a few blocks away. The upstairs has 3 lovely bedrooms and they even set up a portable crib for our new baby. My older girls shared a room with twin beds and the room was big enough for them to play in as well as had a TV / DVD combo so they were able to enjoy a movie. Off the living / kitchen area there is a wonderful patio with seating, grassy area and jacuzzi. Since the weather was warm when we were there we turned off the heater on the jacuzzi and used it to cool off. The house is about a mile from town, which is a great walk, but it's also easy to catch a cab ($2.00 to town center) or to jump on the bus for practically nothing. The town of San Miguel is also wonderful and we never tired of it during our 3 week stay. There are so many great restaurants and coffee houses not to mention great shopping. I have been to Mexico several times and I have never enjoyed the shopping like I did there. We have nothing but great things to say about the house and lots of great memories. I would recommend this house to anyone.
“San Miguel: A Photographer's Paradise”
Have you read On Mexican Time by Tony Cohan? It's the true story of an American couple who leave the rat race and live in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Both artists, they savor the sights and sounds and other delights of San Miguel, their new home. I was ready to do the same thing after our trip to San Miguel. Before I read this book, my family of five ventured to San Miguel to stay at the CasaCoony. It's hard to sum up in just a few words or paragraphs how magical this place is. The house is beautiful and comfortable in every way. Designed by an artist, the house is artistic and simply stunning. The city itself is striking with its colonial beauty. Flowers adorn every balcony and street. How pleasant it was to walk around town and explore the restaurants and shops, or just walk! A photographer's paradise, we couldn't stop taking pictures. Nearly every day we'd be treated to a short rain shower (we Californians appreciate rain a lot). From San Miguel, we took side trips to hot springs, Mexico City (to climb the pyramids) and also to the Floating Gardens of Xochimilco. My whole family greatly enjoyed this vacation. We fell in love with a tiny restaurant a couple of blocks from CasaCoony, run by one woman, called El Ranchito. I still think about the chiles rellenos she made for us. I highly recommend the CasaCoony in San Miguel.
“Exceptional Time in This Fabulous city!”
We spent five months in this lovely home in the La Lejona neighborhood of San Miguel. It has alot of space, great furnishings and a very open floor plan.It is a very livable home. There's a great market, restaurants, gym, golf course all within walking distance. A City bus stop is just around the corner from the house and will take you everywhere. It is very nice to have the quiet yet have everything accessible. We are returning this winter again for five months.
