“Great family stay”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2017

We have 4 generations staying here for several nights. First of all the owners were wonderful to work with and the home had everything we needed to have a wonderful time. There was plenty of space for everyone and we enjoyed walking into Winter Harbor to explore, get groceries and to eat. It was a great place to relax after taking the ferry across to Bar Harbor and we could get away from all the hustle and bustle. We would definitely stay here again.

Response from the owner Being part of the treasured memories created by four generations of a family's vacation in Acadia National Park is truly an honor. Thank you for being part of the "family" of people who have stayed in our Winter Harbor house during their visits to Acadia National Park. We would certainly love to have you return. Kathleen

“Comfy and Clean”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2015

Our family of five just returned from staying five nights in Winter Harbor. The stay was wonderful and the house was really great. We all felt so at home. The house was spotlessly clean. The neighborhood was very friendly. The owner provided so much helpful information on area sights and restaurants. There was everything we could possible need in the house for cooking. Three bedrooms upstairs provided nice privacy for early risers to start their day without bothering the others. Nice little deck for quiet reading in the sun. Short bike ride to Grindstone Neck. Could have easily biked to Schoodic Point but ended up driving. Just loved it. Hope we can go back again!!!

Response from the owner Thank you for the kind review. We work hard to make certain the house is clean and comfortable and well stocked...maybe it's the teacher in us that causes us to want to take care of our guests and every detail of the house and information packets in order to be sure guests' precious vacation time is the best it can be. Please do return!

“Amazing, wonderful, peaceful place!”

Reviewed 7 Jul 2014

My boys and I love the winter harbour house. The owner took care of every detail, we didn't want for anything. The place was spectacular; the house impeccably decorated. We were right next to Acadia park for biking and hiking. I have never been to Winter Harbor and loved the surroundings. What a beautiful place. It was the first time my 17 year old was away without an xbox; and instead he went biking and hiking. We loved cooking in the kitchen, using the grille; and there was a lovely back deck that we enjoyed. Everyone was extremely friendly and went out of their way to introduce themselves; make us feel welcome. I plan on returning back in the fall.

Response from the owner And we loved hosting you and your boys. Thank you for trusting us with your family vacation and for the excellent feedback. We look forward to your return!

“Excellent Place Just like Home”

Reviewed 27 May 2014

This house is built is very close to Schoodic Point in Acadia National Park. It is a great picnic spot, lots of scenic sites and grill area. About the house, it is great vacation home for a family of 6 to seven. We had the best time. Everything was so clean and tidy. Grill was there if you would like to cook something sitting on a deck and kids play in the yard. There is a kids play area right at the end of the street. Dining, kitchen, bedroom with comfortable mattresses. We are very fortunate to find a place close to Acadia. We will definitely come back. Kathleen has everything made it ready to guide you to visit the place. Thank you again and we will come back.

Response from the owner It was a pleasure to host your family and we look forward to your return. Kathleen and Bill

“awesome”

Reviewed 27 Jul 2013

We really loved staying at this rental. Kathleen you were great!!! You answered all my questions. You made everything very easy for us. I was a little nervous when I found out we rented a house 45 minutes from Bar Harbor, We still went into Bar Harbor whale watching. We all agreed after going into Bar Harbor, that we were glad that we rented where we did. Winter Harbor is very beautiful and although it was raining the last day before we were to come home, so we were not able to see Cadillac Mountain, we still had a wonderful time. I definetly would recommend this home to anyone.

Response from the owner We miss you! Consider a return visit. :o)

“Awesome!!!”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2012

We just loved this vacation rental place.. It's beautiful, well maintained, location is very good, quiet, easily accessible to almost everywhere. Whenever we have some question in mind, we have a note answering the question in detail.. We felt like home, the house has everything we might ever need. Kathleen arranged everything and made it so easy.

“Just like 'Home' - when we needed it.”

Reviewed 13 Aug 2012

After a road-trip on the east coast we arrived to Winter Harbor. we where all quite tired of the uniform hotel rooms in different places, and we just loved this quit place. We went to Mount Dessert Island one day and just relaxed the other day, swimming in the Jones Pond and a took trip to Schodic Point. We visited from Denmark, and Kathleen went out of her way to help us with money transfer to her bank and answered other questions for us. She was such a great help.

“Fami;ly vacation”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2012

My family of 5 stayed at your home and had a lovely experience. Everything we needed we found, picnic basket, folding chairs, horse shoes... It was the perfect spot to explore the Schoodic peninsula of acadia from. The towns people were great at local resturaunts, galleries and the farmers market. Most of our time was spent exploring vistas and hiking spots along the loop road. We had such a great time we decided not to go to Bar Harbor or the "big" Acadia because all we wanted to see and do right here. Wouldn't change a thing. Thanks so much!

“Wonderful Rental”

Reviewed 16 Jul 2012

What a wonderful place to stay! The rental was exactly as described-clean, roomy, and full of all of the amenities you could ask for. There were two playgrounds nearby, which was perfect for our three kids. Kathleen was incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout the entire process. This part of acadia is beautiful. Winter Harbor is very relaxed (and somewhat "sleepy") and if you want to be near shopping and more attractions that Bar Harbor affords, then this might be a little too far away (if you plan to make frequent visits). But we enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend it to others (especially to those with children and who would like a "low key" vacation)!

“A Great Experience”

Reviewed 8 Nov 2011

The townhouse was exactly as pictured on website. Very clean & well-stocked with things anyone might need. The beds were very comfortable. Wish the house was a little bit closer to Bar Harbor area but this would not keep us from going there again. We were thrilled the home is smoke-free. The rental price was very appealing also. Communicating with Kathleen was a joy. She was very open, honest & helpful on every level. The house was very much like being in our own home. We highly recommend this home to others.

Response from the owner Thank you for your very kind review. We recognize that a vacation is precious and can't be done over, so we enjoy providing a clean, pretty and comfortable place for our guests to stay while enjoying the beautiful Acadia National Park region. Please come back someday!
