ACADIA National Park. Walk to Ocean, Restaurants. PRIVATE Deck w/Mountain View

Winter Harbor house

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Amazing, wonderful, peaceful place!” My boys and I love the winter harbour house. The owner took care of every detail, we didn't want for anything. The place was spectacular; the house impeccably decorated. We were right next to Acadia park for biking and hiking. I have never been to Winter Harbor and loved the surroundings. What a beautiful place. It was the first time my 17 year old was away without an xbox; and instead he went biking and hiking. We loved cooking in the kitchen, using the grille; and there was a lovely back deck that we enjoyed. Everyone was extremely friendly and went out of their way to introduce themselves; make us feel welcome. I plan on returning back in the fall.

Lito Lodge - Oceanfront near Acadia

Lamoine house

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 7

“The highlight of each year!!” My family has stayed at the Lito Lodge for 10 years - our first visit was in 2004!! We first came when our children were 6 and 8, and now 15 and 17 they still look forward to our annual visit. Acadia is an easy car ride. We visit the park each day to hike and/or bike. Every year we do things we have never done before as there is so much to see and do on Mount Desert Island. The best part of each day is our return to the Lito Lodge. We often stop at Downeast Lobster Pound in Trenton on our way home, have them cook our lobster, and then we can eat them as we marvel at the view from the Lodge!! The Lito Lodge has everything we need and more! Our annual week here is the highlight of our family's year!

Charming Southwest Harbor cottage

Southwest Harbor house

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 4

“Harbors End July 2011” We (2 adults and 2 children, 8 and 13)stayed for a week at Harbors End in July 2011. The entire booking-check in-check out process was a breeze. The house was comfortable and clean and a great location. The cottage is within a short walking distance of the main street of South West Harbor which has an abundance of shops/cafes/restaurants/bike hire for all your needs. The cottage is in a great location for exploring this side of the Island and within easy access to the Bar Harbor side. We preferred where we located as not as busy traffic wise.

Maine. Lovely Cottage on Penobscot Bay

Penobscot cottage

3 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 6

“We discovered our most peaceful selves in this cottage on Penobs” My husband and I rented this absolutely perfect cottage on the Penobscot Bay during our visit to the Downeast region of Maine in august, 2012. We wanted a comfortable home-base with a great view from which to set out each day for trips to acadia National Park, Blue Hill, and other shore town destinations. The cottage not only met, but exceeded our expectations. Photos just can't do justice to the gorgeous panoramic views of the bay that you can take in from the living room area and from the yard. Each morning we drank our tea along the edge of the property and watched the grey gulls and herons fly across the bay. We njoyed the ever-changing landscape of the bay at high and low tides. In the evenings, we cooked elaborate lobster dinners (finding everything we could need within the superbly appointed kitchen) and then enjoyed dining on various nights either in the cottage's indoor dining room or on the outdoor deck. When not feasting on lobster, we grilled a chicken one night on the charcoal grill. After dinners, we'd curl up on the cozy living room furniture and read in front of the fireplace. While we only used it once, the satellite TV was large and well-placed. Each morning we loved waking up to the view of the bay outside our window. The storage shed was perfect for our bicycles, keeping them safe and dry when not in use. The bathroom is a squeeze, both in terms of the location of the toilet and the size of the shower, but in-all, a very functional space. If I was pressed to find anything at all to be improved upon at this cottage it would only be to have more electrical outlets in the bathroom, and for the fridge door to open the opposite way in the kitchen. Otherwise, everything about our stay was perfect. There was even a sweet, playful, neighborhood dog that would visit us for games of catch. We hope you too will have the opportunity to stay in this beautiful, quiet, comfortable, and well-appointed cottage!

Summer rental nr Acadia National Park & Bar Harbor

Southwest Harbor apartment

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Beautiful home-away-from-home” We had visited acadia National Park the previous year and camped for a week in the rain. Wanting to revisit the area, we decided to make it more comfortable by finding a rental. We couldn't have been more pleased with this Southwest Harbor owned by Tim Clements. It was further away from acadia than we had hoped but the benefit was that we were able to explore this area of the island as well which we probably wouldn't have done otherwise. It was an easy drive to go to the other sites we wanted to visit as well. The apartment was beautifully decorated, immaculate, quiet and had all the amenities to make us feel right at home. We enjoyed barbequing on their nice large grill in a quiet backyard. Tim and his wife were available when needed and were very helpful in answering all of our questions. Our teenage nieces who were with us were particularly amused by the singing fish plaque on the wall! We would highly recommend this rental!

Upscale cabin on secluded pond

Bar Harbor house

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Great cabin in the Maine woods” This was our first visit and the family had a wonderful time. It was exactly as advertised. The location was very private and quiet, but within 10-15 minute drive of acadia National Park entrance and Bar Harbor. Very pretty setting. Another cabin way off in the distance but never saw or heard anyone. The cabin was clean, a kitchen with everything you need. The family area had loads of books, games and activities. WiFi worked well, Netflix, cable TV, etc. We had stayed once before in a Maine cabin further inland and were eaten alive by mosquitos. This location was not too bad, perhaps since closer to the coast (but still, don't forget the spray). No air conditioning...not really necessary. Everywhere else in the us it was 100 deg that week, but temperatures didn't get out of the 70's at the cabin and is well shaded. Minor point, but I had hoped on better fishing at the pond, but not much biting all week. Reservation, deposit, key exchange all went smoothly. A real nice time.

Throughout the year, the area’s complexion changes significantly. Expect snow in the winter, dashes of brown and golden leaves falling from the trees in fall, blossom in the summer and warm sunshine during the summer.
