“We are physically back from Italy but mentally still happily lan”
What a lovely stay we had - you have created a beautiful home, perfectly appointed with everything one could want or need at hand. David greeted us at the gate and ushered us up the mountain. He gave us a charming and informative orientation. We never saw Chrissie but spoke with her a few times. It was good to know that she was a call away, but we never needed a thing - you have thought of everything!.. Chrissie's manual is and was well-used - very helpful. The weather was perfect - we journeyed out everyday, after lazy morning breakfasts and reading on the lounges on the back terrace, to explore one spectacular medieval town after another. And there is so much more yet to explore. We trekked home in the afternoons after marketing. Then a swim in a pool which has a view which rivals any I've seen. What a luxury to wind down after the heat of the day. Then into the kitchen to create fresh Italian culinary delights. We made good use of the herb garden and I took the liberty of dead-heading the basil, chives, and geraniums to encourage more bountiful growth. It was a memorable experience for us. We have every hope of returning some day.
“A Place of Retreat and Renewal”
I have had the great pleasure of staying at Villa Piantoni multiple times. The views and the setting are spectacular, the home charming with beautiful details and thoughtful attention to providing all the amenities you would ever need. Located just 20 minutes from Perugia, you are just a short train trip to Florence or Rome. But we preferred staying local and visiting all the beautiful nearby hill towns like assisi, Gubio, Spoleto, Orvieto and Cortona. I look forward to a return visit to this special place where I have always felt a deep sense of retreat and renewal.
“Beautiful home and handy location”
My husband and I stayed in October, 2012. The villa is beautiful with stunning views. We had dinner on the terrace overlooking the pool and hilly wilderness. The bathrooms are a large with great showers. Plentiful hiking options are just outside your door. The villa is well situated in easy driving distance from all of Umbria's charming villages and sites.
“Simply one of the most delightful retreats one can experience!”
Our stay at this lovely area in Umbria was more than we ever imagined. As we drove up the road to what would be home for the next two weeks was this beautifully decorated farmhouse complete with every accommodation for our needs including swim pool. We highly recommend families enjoy this wonderful opportunity to spend time in Umbria. Patricia is most accommodating providing places to visit and restaurants for dining. Be sure to use her as a resource.
“An amazingly beautiful peaceful retreat”
Thank you for the opportunity to spend an incredible 10 days at Villa Piantoni. From the ride to the Villa overlooking the Castle and Golf course, to the scent of the lavender and rosemary bushes upon our arrival we knew we had found a truly special place. The house itself was charming, and we enjoyed breakfast al fresco daily under the lovely portico overlooking the spectacular infinity pool and mountains. Your recommendations for restaurants and towns was much appreciated. The village of Montone was among our favorites as was the ferry ride on the vast Lake Trassimeno. We really had an opportunity to live with the local folks and look forward to returning to this wonderful place.
