Villa Piantoni is nestled in the heart of the Umbrian countryside on the private, gated grounds of the Castello di Antognolla Estate. Secluded and tranquil, Piantoni stands in a wonderful position, at an altitude of 1600 feet, affording panoramic views of the gentle rolling hills, meadows and silvery olive groves that comprise the 1500 acre nature reserve of Antognolla. Our guests enter the grounds of the estate with a pass, through a secured gate.

Built in the late 1600's, Villa Piantoni has been carefully restored to preserve its original character and charm. With its hand-carved ceiling beams, reclaimed terra cotta floor tiles and wrought iron fittings, Piantoni has been comfortably furnished with antiques and custom-made furniture. The Villa sleeps 2, 4, 5, 6 or 7 in three bedrooms with three ensuite bathrooms. Villa Piantoni consists of two buildings: the main house, Piantoni, and the studio cottage, Pianetta. The third bedroom is located in Pianetta, a self-contained cottage which is just a few steps from the main building, and offers a kitchenette, bedroom, bathroom and large covered terrace. (The cottage, accommodating two guests, is available for separate rental during off-peak season.)

A welcome basket is provided for all of our guests upon arrival containing milk, juice, biscuits, bottled water and a bottle of wine. Our kitchen offers coffee, tea, sugar, extra virgin olive oil, vinegar and spices.

There is a 12 x 6 meter infinity pool, softly illuminated in the evening, which offers superb views of the surrounding countryside. Pool towels, loungers, floats and a large umbrella are provided. We also provide a bocce set, horse shoe, badminton and volleyball sets.

It is but a 5-minute drive from Villa Piantoni to Antognolla's medieval castle,18-hole championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II, club house, bar and full service restaurant, Il Boiola. The restaurant will deliver meals to our guests for an additional cost. There are numerous hiking and biking trails amid forests of oak, chestnut trees and olive groves. The Estate of Antognolla and the serene and unspoiled countryside that surrounds it, allows one to live in the tranquility and beauty of nature while still enjoying easy access to social, cultural and athletic activities.

Our manager, Paul, lives a short distance away and can provide information on special events, market days and local restaurants. He can also arrange for the following services for an additional cost: driver, cook, catering services, food delivery and dry cleaning services, cooking classes, wine and olive oil tastings, golf, riding and tennis lessons, and golf and mountain bike rentals. Paul greets our guests at the gate to Antognolla and is available throughout their stay to provide information and assistance.

A 30% deposit and a signature on a simple contract is required for a confirmation of your booking, with the balance due 6 weeks prior to arrival.
