“Oasis in Ubud”

Reviewed 15 May 2014

We stayed at this beautiful little villa for 5 nights and it was fantastic, it is a private villa that is close to everything. The staff were exceptional and the owner Kath & Wayan were helpful with anything required including sending back a forgotten piece of clothing! I highly recommend anyone looking for a lovely villa that is close to everything, there is no need for a taxi as you can walk to all the key parts of town. Lastly breakfast is great - icing on the cake.

“Lovely hideaway in the heart of Ubud.”

We stayed here as a couple in March/April 2014, over Nyepi (the Balinese New Year). The villa is tucked away behind Kopi on Bisma, giving it a quiet and private atmosphere. We explored the heart of Ubud on foot, with the busy Jalan Raya main street only a couple of minutes walk away. Museums, art galleries, restaurants, cafes, the famous Ubud Market, the start of the Campuhan Ridge Walk and shops are all within ten minutes walk! After a busy day, coming home to the crisp pool and filtered water on tap was a delight. The sunsets from the upstairs balcony were really something special, too. Everything was spotlessly clean, with mini-bar style drinks in the fridge at very reasonable prices. The complimentary toiletries were great and I made good use of the ironing board and iron. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, crockery and cutlery. Breakfasts were served at Kopi on Bisma with the best cafe latte in town. The cafe staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Kathy, Wayan and their nephew Dwi all went to great lengths to ensure we were well looked after, with Kath taking time from her busy schedule to advise us on transporting our newly purchased art. They guided us through Nyepi customs, checking to make sure we had everything we needed. The service was exceptional, going well above and beyond what we could have hoped for and we were very impressed. When we left, we felt like we had been staying with friends. I highly recommend Villa on Bisma, a private little slice of luxury hidden away in the bustle of Ubud.

“Better Than a 5 Star Hotel”

Reviewed 27 Mar 2013

I have been a regular visitor to Ubud for many years, this time I had the pleasure of staying in Villa on Bisma, a new villa, managed by the family who also own and manage Samas Cottages. The owners and staff are perfect hosts, always helpful - it's always 'service with a smile'. I spent 3 weeks here, and loved it. The position is excellent, shops and restaurants seconds away, less than 5 minutes to central Ubud, but right in front of the villa is a very good cafe (Kopi on Bisma) for great coffee, snacks and light meals. The villa has everything one would want for a luxury holiday, it's beautifully and comfortably furnished with a fully equipped kitchen if you want to prepare your own meals, gorgeous big comfy bed, and it's quiet. But the top feature has to be the plunge pool, very private and perfect for a splash after a tour or walk around Ubud. I hated leaving and can't wait to go back.

“Perfect hideway in the heart of Ubud”

Reviewed 24 Mar 2013

We stayed at the Villa On Bisma for 8 days in the first week of March. We would have loved to have stayed longer. It's a perfect little paradise hidden behind a very cool cofee shop. The Villa is two stories and the top deck delivers lovely views across the rooftops of Ubud and the trees and the ever changing skies. Perfect for our sunset drinks before heading out for dinner. This is a fantastic spot for those who want to walk out and explore the shops, cafes, and galleries of Ubud on foot. All within an easy stroll from the bottom of Bisma street. Then head back and fall into the plunge pool to cool off before a coffee or a Bingtang. The actual villa is down a little side path from the coffee shop. You can sit in the coffee shop and watch the world go by, or pass the time while waiting to be picked up to be taken on an adventure. We went white water rafting- highly recommended! Did a cycling tour and a trip to Sanur and the beach amongst other things. The Villa On Bisma is run by Kath and Wayan Sudarta who live next door. They were so helpful and easy going, assisting us with booking activites and providing information. It was all very easy and relaxed. The staff at the coffee shop were terrific, efficient and very friendly. They delivered us breakfast to the Villa in the morning and kept the place immaculate. So if you like to be close to the centre of things but also want a little piece of peaceful paradise then we happily, highly recommend Villa On Bisma.
