“Lovely Stay in the Countryside”

“What a gem!”

Reviewed 4 Jul 2022

We found this cottage to be absolutely perfect for what we needed. Amanda couldn't have done more for us and made us feel very welcome. A really unique setting with the upside of Alton Towers only a 15 minute drive away. Would highly recommend for families and groups alike.

“Idyllic, peaceful, but watch out for the bumps!”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2021

We absolutely loved our stay there and felt like we had known the owners forever. They can easily become great friends. The property had everything we needed for five adults and two children, but be aware the stairs are open. The large safe play field and the outdoor toys for younger children were much appreciated and Elliot the Shetland pony much loved :) As we generally take walking holidays, the access to footpaths from the farm was a bonus. It is even possible to reach the Manifold Valley on foot from there. While firmly being located in the countryside, the quaint town of Leek is a short journey away. They have three properties adjacent to one another, so it is quite possible to make new friends or gather in the courtyard together. Alternatively when the weather is fine, you might want to eat outside at one of the picnic tables. The only area of concern is out of the owners control. Owned between the Council and Blue Circle Cement, It is Duke Lane which is the track leading up to the cottage off of the main road. It suffers very badly with potholes, so be very careful and slow when driving up or down the lane/track. The other reason to be slow are the very tame cows that wander around. Some even followed the car up the lane! The only hesitation I have in recommending the cottage and location, is that you (the reader), might book it when I might want to book it again!
