Description
Le Chateau de la Vallee is idyllically set in beautiful rolling countryside.next to the beautiful Forest of Eu and nestling on the edge of the pretty village of Grandcourt. It is divided into two wings, each sleeping up to 10 people, and the wings can be rented separately or together, creating enough room for 20-24 people, plus there's a pretty 3 bedroomed cottage sleeping up to 6 people in the grounds which can be rented with the chateau to create a maximum capacity for the whole property of 26-30 people, or you can rent the Cottage on its own. The beach at Criel-sur-Mer is just a 15 minute scenic drive away and the cities of Dieppe and Abbeville are just half an hour away, while Paris is an easy two hour drive. The Chateau and its Cottage are fantastic properties with their own heated pool which have been lovingly renovated retaining a vast array of original features without being too fussy. They are furnished in a period style in keeping with their rustic surroundings and provide lots of little luxuries that make a holiday here something quite special.

“50th Birthday Surprise”
Well what can we say about this chateau.........Book it!! We held a 50th birthday surprise for my wife at the chateau - it was perfect, it is a simply stunning property - kids will love roaming and hunting around the house and grounds. The pool was very well maintained as was everything from our initial booking until the day we left - a big huge thank you to Angela and Judith - both were so helpful and made our holiday one to remember. The locals are very friendly, they all knew we were a party and made us feel very welcome, trying to arrange a date next year to return - thank you everyone who made this a truly wonderful experience -

Response from the owner The cottage is definitely as described - a cosy cottage but is certainly equipped to host 4 adults and two children as there is a double bedroom upstairs, a twin bedded room downstairs with two single beds and a small bunk bedded room upstairs which is more ideally suited to children rather than adults, even though the mattresses are regular single sized. If you want spacious and voluminous then I'd recommend you book the chateau which is much bigger. I own the property and if ever we travel just as a family of no more than 6 of us, we would choose to stay in the Cottage, so everyone has their own individual preference. I'm so glad you loved the grounds and pool and the Cottage's own outdoor private terrace. You don't need to have the upgraded Premium Package in order for us to provide you with starter toilet rolls - we provide those as a courtesy to all of our guests, unlike many self-catering options. Our Premium Package includes all bed linens, towels, toiletries, dressing gowns for the adults and a champagne welcome pack - the welcome pack is a gift from us, not a contractually obligated set of pre-determined items. We provide salt and pepper to all guests irrespective of the package they choose. We are currently considering phasing out the "Economy Package" because we would like to provide the extra luxuries to all of our guests. Whilst it's fundamentally a self-catering holiday rental, we do like our guests to feel a little pampered and we find these little extra help that. Thank you for the opportunity to address these issues. We hope to continue to provide wonderful holidays to lovely appreciative guests!

“Living like a lord.”
The house and grounds are lovely and take two days just to explore. Add in the fact it has a lovely pool and is all fenced including the grounds so kids can have a little freedom to play. You may even find a den we built in the woods. It's only a couple of hours drive from Calais but it does mean the weather is only a little warmer than the UK.

“Perfect location for family reunion”
We rented the East Wing and cottage for 17 members of our family, mostly travelling from the UK. The house(s), grounds and pool were truly lovely and everything clean and well-maintained. We found activities for all ages within reasonable driving distances, but even just chilling in the house, gardens and pool was great.

“Beautiful Chateau”
This was our third visit to the Chateau at Grandcourt, there were 16 of us this time so we rented the East wing and the Cottage for a long weekend. The surrounding countryside is lovely and ideal for short trips out to the coast or other areas of beauty. The Chateau is great, set in lovely grounds with a good pool and lovely BBQ facilities. We have found that there is everything there that we need and the welcome pack on arrival is a nice touch. I thought that the group might like to try somehwere else next year but it has been unanimous we will be returning for our fourth year running!

“Wonderful Easter Break”
What a great week! We travelled as a large group (17) so hired both wings of the main house, this provided more space than enough with beds to spare. Our party included 9 children of varying ages so separate adult and child dining was ideal given the two large dining areas. The grounds and stream provided plenty of entertainment for the children but the wonderful surrounding country side and places to visit made the week fly by. As party organiser my job was made simple by the owners clear and quick communication. While for some of the older children a lack of internet connection initially caused concern for some of us that is a blessing. So the big question would we go back? - BIG FAT YES!!
