Eski Köy Evi (The Old Village House)
This beautiful village house, has recently been renovated to combine the best of a traditionally built old town house with modern living. Built over three floors plus roof terraces, the house consists of two wings joined by an internal courtyard.
The house is situated on one of the many narrow lanes in the heart of Kalkan Old Town where bougainvillea frame the many balconies. The picturesque harbour and beach are approximately 200 metres from the house, no more than a two minutes stroll away.
The house comfortably accommodates eight people. There are three double bedrooms and one twin bedroom. There is air conditioning and each of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms.
On the ground floor there is a spacious open plan kitchen and sitting room.
Kitchen:
The kitchen is fully equipped with Bosch appliances including an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster, dishwasher as well as a water cooler. In addition there is a breakfast bar and a dining table seating eight people. A flight of stairs leads up to the master bedroom.
Sitting Room:
The sitting room has two 3-seater sofas and two armchairs. There is a wood-burning stove if needed during early and late season holidays. There is satellite TV and a DVD player. A flight of stairs leads down to the basement area.
On the basement floor there is a utility room with washing machine and a 5th bathroom consisting of shower, basin and toilet. A flight of stairs leads up to the remaining bedrooms.
First Floor Bedrooms:
On the first floor there are two bedrooms, the large master bedroom and a large double bedroom. The master bedroom has a balcony. A flight of stairs leads up from the landing outside the large double bedroom to the 2nd floor bedrooms.
Second Floor Bedrooms:
On the second floor there are a further two bedrooms, a double and a twin. The twin bedroom has a balcony.

Eski Koy Evi is situated in the heart of the old quarter of Kalkan, a short stroll to the town beach and the excellent restaurants.
Kalkan is a small, peaceful Mediterranean resort and fishing town on the beautiful turquoise coast of Turkey.
Kalkan curls snugly around an ancient harbour sheltered by the foot of the towering Taurus mountains. Narrow streets twist down to the harbour through the historic town and are lined with listed whitewashed villas with shuttered windows situated alongside small local speciality shops and restaurants. Overhead hang original carved Ottoman timber balconies garlanded with brilliantly coloured bougainvillea cascading to the streets below. It is a very special place.
The pebbly town beach is 'blue flag' and there are several excellent beach clubs around the bay. Kaputas Beach is less than ten minutes away by car and the even more spectacular Patara Beach is a fifteen minute drive away.
Shopping:
Kalkan has numerous shops and supermarkets. The Thursday Market offers an opportunity to sample the fabulous local produce.

“Beautiful house, superb location - owners have thought of everything”
House is newly refurbished and very central for the town. Lovely bedrooms and bathrooms, comfortable beds and super wetrooms. All mod cons provided in the open plan kitchen and laundry room. We had breakfast at home every day, but as there are dozens are super restaurants all within walking distance, we ate out every evening. The house does have a BBQ, but we did not make use of it. There is a beach club you can walk to, with sunbeds, brollies and access to deep water. Very good lunch also available there. Local beach is run by the council and wasn't fully operative when we were there. There is an excellent beach about 15 mins drive away, again with bed,brollies and super sea/beach - loved it there. Local people are very friendly, without being too pushy and in-your-face. Lots of good shopping with excellent 'fakes' - jewellery, watches, sunglasses, leather goods and some unusual clothes boutiques. Weekly market worth a visit. Lots of local cats and dogs, but well looked after, even if they are strays, so not too much of a problem. Overall an excellent holiday and to be recommended.
