Description
Located in the surroundings of Florence, the picturesque city of Pistoia is situated at the foot of the Apennines in the valley of the Ombrone. Overseas property hunters have repeatedly been driven there by the thought of having Florence at their door step, the cobbled streets, rolling hills covered in olive trees and vineyards and quality food and weather.
Located in a strategic place, in the heart of Northern Tuscany, Pistoia gives easy access to all the famous cities in the region and to some of the world's most renowned art, culture and naturalistic sights - Florence, Pisa, Vinci the birthplace of Leonardo, Lucca, Prato, Arezzo, the Versilia seasides, the ski resorts of Mt Abetone, Leghorn, Siena, San Gimignano and the Etruscan town of Volterra.
A few minutes away from the illustrious spas of Montecatini Terme and Monsummano Terme, the Pinocchio Park at Collodi, the Palude di Fucecchio Faunal Park and the Montalbano Chianti region.
It is a small town but an appreciated tourist locality in which to spend, far from traffic, smog and noise, pleasant, peaceful and relaxing days, in an attractive natural environment rich in vegetation and woods surrounding the built-up areas. It is considered by the locals to be a terrace from which it is possible to dominate and enjoy a large part of the neighbouring plains. People travel to this part of the Italian Peninsula to enjoy sightseeing, good wine and traditional cuisine such as Fiorentina steaks and wild Porcini mushrooms, and the peace which seems to be an essential characteristic of the place, also known for its bicycle races and routes. Other activities that are common and available in the close vicinities are fishing, tennis and horse riding.
This cosy, warm and gracious flat is well furnished. It has terrace already fitted with mosquito nets for the summer, as are all the other windows. As in all traditional Italian houses, the double glazed windows also have large wood shutters which help to keep the cool air in the summer time. This little jewel is approximately 40 m2 with an extra 15m2 of rustic, hand-built, wood mezzanine. The mezzanine, perfect to be used as an extra bedroom or a personal study, doesn't go without a skylight of course, which adds without doubt to its beauty and originality. The house has autonomous heating and a washing machine. The bathroom has a shower and bidet', an essential luxury and comfort in all good Italian houses. The 2 floor building is regularly cleaned and is fitted with an elevator alongside its stairs. The building also has parking spaces for its residents.
