Description

Cosy Retreats are proud to present Honeymug Cottage. A delightful hamper of locally sourced produce and Honeymug's tasteful and stylish interior will give you just the welcome you need at your journey's end. Perfect for families, small groups and couples, you will enjoy total relaxation in Honeymug.

Situated in the heart of Northumberland, with the Cheviot Hills on your doorstep and just a short drive from the most spectacular coastline and glorious sandy beaches, you will be truly spoilt for choice when deciding how to spend your days.

Honeymug is arranged in an upside down fashion - giving light and spacious living accomodation upstairs which is just perfect for relaxing after a busy day and a lovely family meal. The lounge area, with its characterful wooden beams, log burning stove and comfy seating is perfect for a cosy evening of quiet relaxation or family fun. There is a bookcase brimming with books, a large flat-screen TV, a DVD player, iPod dock, CD/radio and a selection of games and magazines.

The dining kitchen contains plenty of space for a family of six to eat around a lovely, wooden table. All the equipment you might need is on hand to help make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. There is a washer/dryer, dishwasher and fridge-freezer as well as a kettle, toaster and microwave and a wide selection of cooking equipment and utensils. You will also find a supply of tea, coffee and milk to welcome you at your journey's end.

Downstairs the master bedroom includes a king-size bed and en-suite shower and WC. There are two further twin rooms and a family bathroom that has a shower over bath. You will find lots of storage space too to help keep your things tidy and give that real 'home from home' feel. A travel cot (with a selection of bedding) and high chair are also available in the cottage, should you require them.

We are certain that a stay in Honeymug will be a breathtaking experience in itself...but the icing on the cake will come in the form of the on-site leisure facilities, provided by Breamish Valley Cottages and fully available to Honeymug guests. You will find a good-sized heated swimming pool, state-of-the-art gym, sauna, steam room and spa-pool which are all available for you to use from early morning until late evening. Our words alone can't possibly do these facilities justice so do take a good look at the photos above!

If that's not enough for you - you will also find an all weather tennis court, mini-golf, croquet lawn and a stunning lake to take a stroll around and perhaps do a spot of bird watching from the hide.

If you're bringing children they will absolutely love the games room - where little ones and adults alike can enjoy a game of pool, table-tennis, air hockey, table football or just chill out on the big sofas and watch TV.

There is also a wooden adventure playground, trampoline, small football pitch, a play house and a selection of ride-on toys.

We're sure you will agree that a stay in Honeymug has something for absolutely everyone!

The heating in Honeymug is by means of oil-fired central heating, the cost of which, as well as the leisure facilities and the provision of linen and towels, is included in the price.

The owners of Honeymug are delighted to be able welcome well behaved dogs with responsible owners. There is a stair gate available in the cottage for your convenience as well as a box of dog towels if you need them. We'd ask that you bring your own throws/blankets if you would like to have your four-legged friends on the sofa for cuddles! Please note that dogs must be taken out of the courtyard and exercised off the Breamish Valley Cottages site, this is at the request of the site owners.

Honeymug can be booked alongside its sister cottage, Pottery Cottage (sleeps 4), which is located in the same courtyard - perfect for larger family groups (up to 10 people) to be able to holiday together.

Beautiful quiet setting full of bird song thanks to the well stocked feeders. Very comfortable with all matter of facilities, from DVDs, books, child games & toys, even down to crayons & paper! Even an umbrella by the coat hooks, although we had no rain - just warm breeze and sun. Swimming pool easy to book, good separate play shed with soft play, table football, tennis. Can load & unload car right by front door. Welcome breakfast pack (although we got jam - not the famous marmalade raved about in the visitors' book!

5 days/4 night break with husband, 15 year old son and our 2 springer spaniels, first time in Northumberland and no complaints. Honeybug Cottage is aa lovely as it looks in the pictures. Large Cottage which can easily house 6 people (adults or mix with children). House is well equipped and the hamper and wee extras left by the owner show they want to go that wee bit extra to make you feel at home. Lovely relaxing location with lots to see and do for those looking for some adventures, hill walking, cycling, fishing to name a few. We made good use of the pool, daily. And the dogs and myself loved the and local walks round the lake. Cottage has everything you need for a getaway
