The small, attractive town of Koycegiz (pronounced kur-y-jeez) situated at the head of a lake with stunning views of the surrounding mountains, is the ideal place for your villa holiday in Turkey. Koycegiz is just a boat ride from the Mediterranean Sea and the beautiful Turquoise Coast, and 25 minutes from Dalaman International airport.

If you are after a taste of the real Turkey, then this off-the-beaten track location, normally popular with Turkish tourists, is the place for you. Located near the beautiful Turquoise Coast, close to beaches on the Mediterranean Sea and the famous resorts of Dalyan, Fethiye and Marmaris, yet away from the crowds and hassle.

Koycegiz is not a large tourist resort- expect peaceful lakeside cafes, bars and restaurants, real Turkish cuisine, stunning views and the hospitality of the friendly local people and your hosts, Bulent and his family.

These traditionally styled properties are around 100 years old, and tasteful renovation has resulted in spacious, comfortable villas which offer the perfect mix of traditional Turkish style with modern convenience. The decorative wooden ceilings typical of the region have been replicated using local materials and craftsmen, and the original stone and brick walls ensure they stay cool inside during the hot summer months.

The lounge areas have sofas and armchairs to relax on, as well as comfortable Ottoman seating areas where you can laze around on Turkish cushions. The spacious veranda overlooks the attractive pool and garden and is the perfect place to relax and sip an evening aperitif.

As well as the many traditional Turkish features the properties are light and airy with all modern conveniences, fully air-conditioned and equipped to a high standard with your self-catering holiday in mind.

Villa Jasmine sleeps up to ten people and Villa Begonville sleeps up to eight. They both have satellite TV with BBC World and other English channels, a DVD player and a CD player. For those with small children, bottle steriliser, high chair and travel cots, as well as children's' DVD's, are available on request. With the safety of small children in mind, the owners have also added gates to the verandas.

The Swimming Pool and Gardens

The large shared pool also features a separate, small children's splash pool and is surrounded by an attractive marble terrace, and a beautiful garden featuring flowering plants and fruit trees. There are plenty of comfortable sun loungers to relax on, and all of these have umbrellas, if you like to keep in the shade.

The local area is one of the few places in the world where 'Liquid Amber' trees (liquidambar orientalis) can be found. They produce the resin more famously known as frankincense and emit a sweet, fragrant aroma. Villa Jasmine and Villa Begonville boast a line of these special trees bordering the garden, their scent adding to the special ambience of the pool and garden area.
