Located in Tavira's historic centre, close to all amenities, in a peaceful tree lined square, is this charming 3 storey townhouse, refurbished in 2009. Casa Branca has been refurbished and equipped to a high standard. 3 double bedrooms, 1 bathroom sunny living room, and fully equipped kitchen. Broadband wi-fi and cable tv, air conditioning/heating. Being centrally located, with easy access to public transport, no car is needed.
Close to the River Gilao with its Roman bridge, the 13th century castle, and gardens, and the hilly cobbled streets home to some blue and white houses. Churches - Tavira has 37 of them. And if you need a break pop into one of the cafes in the Praca da Republic for a coffee and a Pastel de Nata. At night you can enjoy the many cultural and musical events only 2 minutes from home. Or take the ferry to the Ilha da Tavira only 3 minutes away. Close by are other beaches to enjoy Barril, Cabanas, Manta Rota. Sta Lucia is close by with its vibrant fishing and cafe scene. Casa Branca is ideally located in a quiet tree lined square in the centre of historic Tavira, perfect for guests want to live in in the middle and still have quiet. A 2 min. walk will bring you to to the riverside and the Roman bridge. numerous shops, bars and restaurants and the fish and vegetable market are within walking distance. This is the ideal choice for the discerning visitor, attracted to the Moorish history and culture of this vibrant town - a real Portuguese experience to be enjoyed. Blue flag beaches, and the Ria Formosa (Beautiful lagoon), are on your doorstep so that you can enjoy walking cycling birdwatching, golf or simply relaxing.

“A Little Gem”
Should have revued this earlier but Family health problems took priority.Mrs.Byron arranged for her right hand man Vas. to collect us from Faro to avoid the hassle of the car rental guys with the car upgrade,collision waiver,full/empty tank on return!Whisked down the empty motorway.Locals cannot afford the high toll costs.Into old Tavira to enter a charming cobbled square featuring Casa Branca.Now,there are very detailed accounts on other web sites from visitors who describe the layout etc and these must be concurred with.Also,the range of photographs shown cannot be bettered.We found the cleanliness,position,rooms,ability to park close when we haggled for a better car rental price after a few days there all spot on.Restaurants:didn't bother with the expensive ones at the mouth of the river but enjoyed the local Beka plus O Castello under the stewardship of 'Junior'.Took the local knowledge and headed off to the hills to O Forno in Santo Estevao.Run by Raquel featuring a memorable chicken barbecue.On a warmer day to Marisqueira in the charming coastal frontage of Santa Luzia.Why not test the Octopus restaurant on the same strip.Bit like Fawlty Towers with 'if you don't like duck then you're out of luck.'If you don't like octopussy then you're very fussy!' So despite the changeable weather.A perfect destination to enjoy the river,gardens,historic buildings,count the many door knocker designs of hands,head off to the coast further down to restaurant Pineiros or enjoy the rugged hills and villages. Return the car and let Vas.take you to Faro to avoid mini-bus pickups.Holiday bliss!
