Villa Alta Dos at Calle Sierra Gorda #10 is nestled in the exclusive, quiet Atascadero neighborhood, only a 15 minute walk to the center of town. Originally constructed in the late 1980’s, the Villa was designed in an Italian Mediterranean style unique to San Miguel de Allende. The compound walls assure security and privacy and enclose a large terraced courtyard with gardens and lawn and three buildings - the renovated, fully furnished rental Casa, a smaller uninhabited Casita, and the Studio which can be rented separately as a artist / artisan work space or a room for your guest(s) only who might visit you during your stay.

The design of the Casa is intended for a single or couples as the sleeping area is on a mezzanine without separating walls and overlooks the living room. The high ceiling living room with clerestory windows add much light and a feeling of airiness to the interior ambience.

Amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, water purification system, comfortable queen size bed, large wardrobe, 32” TV with cable/HDMI connection, excellent WiFi, ceiling fans, heater for the cold winter nights, washer and dryer and full use of the courtyard for outdoor living and entertaining. Recent improvements include a half bath on the main floor and a barbecue grill (parrilla). Three hours of housekeeping service once a week are included. A "House Book" is provided with important and useful information about living in the Villa.

The final stretch of road leading to the Villa is single lane, paved with in stone and is moderately steep. Sturdy walking shoes and moderate physical fitness are a plus for a really pleasurable stay at the Villa and for navigating San Miguel on foot - the preferred way of getting around town. No parking is provided but limited street parking is available about 250 yards downhill from the Villa. Traffic in San Miguel has become pretty congested and it is recommended that you do not maintain a car during your stay. Taxis are readily available all over town for the uphill trip and cost 50-60 pesos (about $3) from El Centro. Radio called taxis for pick up at the Villa are a little more. Also, Uber is available most hours.

Veronica Alvarado is the Property Manager. Members of her staff will greet you at the Villa when you arrive and will be there for your departure. They will respond to your special requests, questions, and emergencies.
