Description
In September 2011 the Sunday Times voted Gamekeeper's Cottage one of the ten best woodland retreats. It is situated in the middle of a 100 acre wood, with four acres attached to the cottage; it also has a large garden. The cottage, sleeping 5 in 3 bedrooms, is within easy reach of Southwold, Beccles, Halesworth, Minsmere and other historic towns. It is available all year with full central heating, log burners and all modern facilities including broadband.

“Absolutely beautiful, unique location which is full of character and very peaceful.”
Set in the middle of Brampton woods is this unique, detached, 3 bed cottage which is full of charm and character. Beautifully clean with welcoming flowers and wine on arrival. The grounds are fantastic with 3 lawn areas, picnic table and BBQ which you can use. Their woods are brilliant fun to build a den and take a lovely walk in whilst seeing some local wildlife. We visited Southwold, Lowestoft, Halesworth, Beccles and Bungay during our week. We spent the day at the Camal Park and went horse riding on the beach at Pakeside Riding. Fantastic week which we enjoyed very much (especially not listening to any other holiday makers).

“Beautiful Retreat”
Firstly booking this beautiful, scenic cottage was ever so easy. Nick and Lesley were fast, friendly and quick to respond and we’re happy to answer any questions. When we arrived we were more than happy with the utterly stunning, well kept and maintained wooded and garden area. The main reason we were looking for this particular retreat was to shoot a small production film for our circus act and the gamekeepers cottage was more than ideal. The house itself was very accommodating, met with a bottle of wine and a lovely log fire to settle into our evening. Everything you could possibly need to know regarding the area and the house itself is available to you at such ease, I couldn’t recommend better hosts. Thank you for such understanding and welcoming gestures. We will definitely recommend. - Devon

“WONDERFUL”
We arrived at the cottage for a much needed break, wow what a beautiful retreat, the cottage was very cosy with everything you need,clean and very welcoming, the surroundig garden and woodland were amazing, we saw lots of wildlife without having to leave the garden,brilliant location easy reach for nature reserves and beaches we loved it thankyou nick and lesley for sharing your beautiful cottage. We will be back. Only one small request could do with larger shower cubicle,

Response from the owner Really glad that you enjoyed the cottage and thanks for the pleasant comments. It would be a major upheaval to fit a larger shower cubicle...we have 2 smaller ones at home! We would love to have another bathroom but the layout and rear ditch would mean a character changing rebuild. Just for interest the cottage itself was Nick's mother's since about 1953 until we took it over and Nick spent his teenage years there ...earlier with no electricity, telephone, water pumped from the well, no proper drive and digging holes for the Elsan!
