Description
PLEASE NOTE. I'll be out of reach from Saturday, January 14th until Wednesday January 25th, 2017. I'll be happy to answer any questions or accept bookings made before or after these dates. Thank you.
Bellarose Guest House is a fully self-contained unit in the upstairs area of a house that comfortably accomodates 1 or 2 people.
Surrounded by the beautiful Daintree Rainforest, it is an idyllic setting to rest and relax. It is also close to many of the area attractions and about a 15 minute walk to Cow Bay beach.
Rose and her friendly, energetic young kelpie cross dog, Bella, live downstairs so guests have complete privacy as well as Rose being available for assistance. Bella may ask you to play with her when you come downstairs, but she doesn't go upstairs.
There are push bikes to see the area as well as fishing rods for guest use. There are also binoculars and a bird book.
Breakfast foods are supplied including bread, eggs, muesli, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, butter and condiments. If you have special dietary requirements other breakfast foods can be arranged. Cooking utensils and private kitchen for cooking. There is a small grocery shop in the area but for most food items it is best to shop in Mossman or Port Douglas.
Bellarose is developing an extensive fruit, vegetable and herb garden which guests can help themselves to. There is usually paw paw, sweet potato, cassava, turmeric, kefir lime leaves, rocket, and many other fruits and vegetables when in season including beans, passionfruit and pineapple.
Cow Bay is a remote area, there is no mains power so Bellarose is run by solar power and gas and the occasional generator use.
While there is no mobile phone coverage or TV, there is a land line for local calls to book tours etc, as well as DVDs and plenty of books. If you start to read a book and don't have time to finish it, Rose doesn't mind if you take it with you. There is also free WiFi.
Rose will leave round trip free ferry passes for you to pick up at the ferry on your way up.
There is extensive written tourist information available on site. If you are interested in any particular activities let Rose know beforehand and she will find as much information as possible for you.
