Description from owner

Description

Candlers Cottage is situated in the market town of Harleston, enjoying a private location and just a short walk away from local restaurants, pubs and shops. The semi-detached cottage was originally built in the 1600s and is one of the oldest properties in town with some exposed timbers. Having been recently refurbished and extended in 2022, the property has been upgraded to an exceptionally high standard to offer the ideal holiday cottage with modern features.

A full welcome pack is provided with local attractions and recommendations to assist your visit, and the cottage has a private driveway to offer secure parking. Each room boasts an open and light atmosphere, and the eye-catching family bathroom is something to behold.

“Brilliant host who went the extra mile for us”

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage is set in the heart a small but well served town. With two parking spots which in this town is a premium. Inside there is a comfy tv room with big corner sofa then… More

“delightful cottage, quality furnishings, great location”

Reviewed 13 Oct 2021

Candlers Cottage is a delightful cottage located down a little lane in Harleston. The cottage is decorated and furnished really well and more than catered for our needs during our stay. The courtyard garden with covered area was lovely for enjoying the last of the summer evenings. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare and cook meals for our family. The facilities were really good, thoughtfully done and made our stay very comfortable indeed. The host was great, living next door he was on hand with friendly advice and recommendations to make the most of our stay. The location of the cottage is a real bonus, 30 mins into Norwich, 45 mins to Southwold. The town has some great eateries and pubs along with lovely shops and we went on some lovely walks to nearby Wortwell. Highly recommend this little gem.

“Fantastic location, well equipped, very comfortable home from home, Phillip is a wonderful host.”

Chandlers cottage has everything you need for a great holiday, superb attention to detail and host on hand for advice on days out and excellent local dining experiences. Walking distance to the the lovely market town of Harleston that has everything you need for shopping, dining or just to browse. We would highly recommend 'The Raj', 'The JD' and 'The Fox and Goose' for eating. When eating in you will find all you need in the fabulously well equipped kitchen, and the local butchers 'Bowne and son' provide high quality locally sourced produce. We explored the area walking and cycling, the location is perfect to visit Norfolk, Suffolk, The Broads and the coast all of which are in easy reach. Thank you Phillip for a wonderful holiday we will be back.
