Description

The "Casa Grande" Pacos da Serra is a family-century manor. XVIII with dependencies of the sixteenth century for guests. It was one of the first rural tourism houses Gouveia region and was restored in the 80s for the first Portuguese woman graduated in electrical engineering.

It has 3 independent apartments and 6 adjacent field houses with rooms for 2, WC, heating, lounge with fireplace, TV, kitchenette and balcony (breakfast included with vegan option). We have available all information about the region. The reception is personalized and have room service and fireplaces.

In the common room multi-function Big House, which aims to be a sort of honest bar, is operating the traditional loom of wood with pedals. There can also be observed aerial photographs from 1916 taken by our grandfather who was the first photographer Portuguese aviator. Also discovered by him, they are on display Roman archaeological artefacts and the outdoor garden is the milestone.

 

The Casa Grande is located in the village of Paços da Serra, Serra da Estrela, between Gouveia and Seia, within an olive grove property with threshing floor, forge museum, camellias garden with picnic tables, barbecue and parking.

We are also available for retreats, parties and various workshops.

In the vicinity of the village can be carried out walks bucolic hiking and visiting medieval-presses attest through the gardens.

In the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, adjacent, there are many marked footpaths, car circuits with panoramic views, river beaches, ski resorts, medieval villages, countryside museums, etc.
