Fabulous Location, 5 Mins Walk To Beach And Restaurants. 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, sleeps 10-12, over three floors.

Casa Rosina's spacious accommodation is equipped with all the facilities a modern family needs to enjoy their holiday. When staying - our house is your house. The kids can stay entertained playing with body boards, pool toys, board games, video games and DVDs, while the parents relax around the pool or share sun-downers at the relaxing poolside bar/lounge area. We have now completely refurbished Casa Rosina since taking it over in 2007 and we still look to improve it further each year. Feedback from our guests is really appreciated. The decor is simple bright and modern and the villa is very well equipped for large groups and for entertaining both inside and out by the pool. We have invested in good quality divan beds which can be pushed together to make good king-size doubles or pulled apart for single occupancy. We have bought hotel quality white Egyptian bed linen and towels which are professionally laundered at each changeover. The unique positioning of Casa Rosina within the village offers an easy 5 minute walk to the beach and a 2 minute walk from the bars and restaurants of the central square - forget the car. Our villa is but a short meander up the cobbled streets from the village square and quayside up past the church. Ferragudo is reported to be the most photographed village in the Algarve. Its unspoilt cobbled streets and picture postcard houses blend seamlessly with the local bars and restaurants. The unique atmosphere of Ferragudo is created by a blend of village life and the small local fishing business that supplies fresh fish to the numerous restaurants.

Getting around

Our villa is ideally located in the village of Ferragudo, you really don't need a car! We can arrange airport transfers for you. The village square with its many bars and restaurants is just a 5 minute walk one way and the beautiful Praia Grande beach with beach bars, restaurants, play park and water sports just a 10 minute walk the other. If you wanted to venture across the river mouth to the busier resort of Praia da Rocha, the marina or the town of Portimao, there is a regular water taxi from the harbour wall in Ferragudo. Other day excursions can be organised with a local minibus company.

Interaction with guest

As we live in the UK, our house manager Kerstin meets and greets the guests on arrival and is contactable during your stay should you need further assistance. I am always contactable either by phone, or email. I send the guests lots of information about the villa and the local area before arrival, and there are further recommendations within the villa itself.

The villa is well equipped for large family groups, grandparents, parents and grandchildren enjoying the great poolside entertaining space. 5 bedrooms (10 beds) spread over 3 floors in a quiet cul-de-sac location. We have had wedding parties and caterers for special birthdays. Recommendations on request.

Response from the owner We are very sorry to hear your holiday was marred, albeit by unfortunate and temporary issues, all beyond our control! In over 11 years of renting the property we have never had such complaints before. We did not know our new neighbours were carrying out building work in the summer season when work is usually restricted, and upon immediate contact with them after your email, their re-assurance that it was only continuing for another 2 days we assumed this was resolved. We've also not had an issue with seagulls before, despite being located so close to the sea. As the chicks had flown we had already removed the nest before you arrived. Wires will be going up for sure next year to prevent a re-occurrence and we will advise the neighbours to do the same. We thought it only fair to advise our guests about the aggressive nature of the birds for their safety when using the roof terrace. We take the opinions and comments from our guests extremely seriously as we try to improve the villa year on year and feel this is an unfair review. Casa Rosina is exactly as described in the listing and most of our guests say that is far exceeds their expectations.​

Sorry that we cannot include pool heating, especially at that time of year, as it takes 4 days just to get the large pool up to temperature for our guests arrival. We did offer you pool heating for a contribution of only £100 (£11 each) to go towards the electricity costs for the week. We keep our prices competitive and feel £160 a night for 9 people is already a very good price for our villa. I am also sorry that you didn't find the single duvets sufficient. As our large divan beds also pull apart as twin beds we find this then suits both couples and our single group guests. I will speak to our house manager to check that double beds had 2 duvets, regardless of the number of guests? Many thanks for your useful comments, I will bear them in mind for our future guests and hope that you recommend us to friends and family. Gina
