Description
Set in a small ancient building in the heart of Alfama, Alfama Photography House 2 is the younger sister of our upstairs apartment. It recently underwent thorough and careful renovation, giving it all modern comforts while preserving traditional elements.
Located on the ground floor, the front door opens to the stairways of a typical and quiet Alfama alleyway. The apartment features a spacious and bright dining room and a compact and fully functional kitchen with a peculiar high ceiling window that brings in wonderful light. The bedroom is a cosy and traditional alcove, connected to the living room, where there is a desk and a sofa with extra bed for one. The bathroom was build from scratch and features a modern shower and a large stone counter and cabinet.
There's an air conditioner in the living room.
The building´s original construction date is uncertain but possibly predates the 1755 earthquake. We do know it kept the exact some structure since the late 19th Century - take a look at the photos we found in the Town Hall archives. We also know it was thoroughly renovated, as we have been living in the upstairs apartment ourselves for a number of years now.
Decoration is a mixture of modern and vintage furniture, most of which collected from our family houses. All the walls are covered with fine art prints of original photography by one of us (you will have to guess who).

“Wonderful appartment”
