Quartier calme et tranquille, l'île de la Barthelasse est le "poumon" vert d'Avignon. Elle se situe entre deux bras du Rhône. Possibilité de nombreuses balades à pied, en vélo....
Le centre ville d'Avignon (84) est accessible en 5 minutes à pied, le village de Villeneuve-les-Avignon (30) en 10 minutes.

“An ideal property from which to explore Avignon”
A well appointed property with a shaded garden in which we had all of our meals and used in preference to indoor lounge and dining table which I am sure were comfortable but were untried. There is a very small 'priest hole' like wc which may not suit all travellers but Didier and Isabelle have made good use of the space available throughout the property and have equipped this to a high standard. The property is within walking distance of the city (only about 5 minutes) and there is much more to explore easily on foot. With a bicycle then getting around is even easier with a cycle lane outside the property that takes you safely into the city. You will not get total peace in a location near a city but the property is highly recommended.

Actually, as you say, in "the priest hole" somme people could be cramped! In french we call the WC "le petit coin" (the little spot)...that's the good name! As for the quiet, being so close of the whirlwind cultural, and the beauty of the island,deliver the house appreciable.
