Large well furnished flat, in a quiet residential area not far from the beach.

This beautiful spacious two bedroom apartment is situated in central Broadstairs, Where you can spend a lovely relaxing holiday on our long sandy beaches. The apartment offers a spacious entrance hall. A very impressive lounge/diner, a open fire place where you can spend some nice cosy nights in front of the fire, it also has a TV with DVD player. A fitted kitchen with all the necessaries. A modern bathroom suite with bath and shower and two double bedrooms. The location is perfect as the apartment is close to the promenade and near shops. There are varieties of restaurants, cafes, pubs and ice cream parlours to choose from. There are beaches at Stone Bay and Dumpton Gap, which are lined with beach huts. The main sandy beach is at Viking Bay. The high street is refreshingly vibrant with a super selection of traditional shops and stores. There is a mainline railway station, library, Post Office and two metro supermarkets. Local bus routes are also close by and offer a regular service to the local shopping centre at Westwood Cross, as well as Margate and Ramsgate. The location Steeped in history, Broadstairs was predominantly a fishing village, prior to becoming one of the most popular seaside towns in Kent. In the middle of the 18th century farmers settled in Broadstairs and St Peters and the town expanded. Broadstairs is synonymous with Charles Dickens and his life and works are celebrated every year with Folk Week and The Dickens Festival. Bleak House overlooks the beautiful harbour at Viking Bay.

There is allocated parking at the rear of the building. You have got a separate entrance to the basement flat, so you won't get into contact with the other people living in the house.

In case of any emergencies (for example you locked yourself out) there is local back up available.

The building is grade 1 listed and has got old fashioned windows. Due to Corona the carpets have been recently (30 07 2020) been cleaned industrial.

Aufgrund der aktuellen Reisebeschränkungen war es mir nicht möglich die Unterkunft selbst während der letzten zwölf Monate in Augenschein zu nehmen. Nach der letzten Belegung, bis Mitte März 2021, erfolgte jedoch eine Grundreinigung und eine Begehung der mit der Verwaltung beauftragten Agentur vor Ort. Der 64 seitige Bericht kann zur Verfügung gestellt werden. Die dort aufgeführten Mankos: Treppe zur Eingangstür benötigt einen neuen Anstrich. Küchenschränke sollten bei nächster Gelegenheit ausgetauscht werden. Diese Maßnahme ist für Juli 2021 vorgesehen. Vorhandene weisse Ware ist neu. Konkret: Waschmachine und Kühlschrank mit Gefriereinheit wurden im August 2020 neu installiert. Mikrowelle im März 2021 ausgetauscht.

“Lots of space, fantastic location, would definitely book again”

We had a wonderful week and would definitely consider rebooking this flat if we wanted to holiday in Broadstairs again. Which I think we would :) On arrival, there were no surprises - everything looked exactly as in the photos. The twin room is enormous and the double is more than big enough, with loads of hanging space (I've never seen so many coat-hangers outside of a Primark) and plenty of drawers. In the kitchen there's everything you would need and lots of space to put away your own food. The bathroom is also massive with a bath and separate shower cubicle. We really enjoyed relaxing in the enormous lounge, where after eating we could stretch out on the three sofas and watch a film or TV. The owner has provided lots of DVDs, board games and books or you can use the TV's USB input for a laptop or memory stick if you've got your own films or a Netflix subscription etc. Whenever we needed to have a quick blast of the heating (e.g. to dry our towels), the flat warmed up really quickly. It's a basement flat so a good idea to open the windows as much as possible to let air circulate. There is a convenience store about 100m from the flat, with the closest restaurants just beyond it, and only a few minutes' walk into the town centre. If you want to eat at home, there's a Tesco Express, Iceland and Co-op (the latter open 6am-10pm every day) within easy walking distance, plus local bakeries and greengrocers. And there are lots of takeaways in that stretch of the high street too! But possibly the best thing about this flat is its proximity to the seafront: a couple of hundred metres from Louisa Bay (with some nice gardens and a mini-golf along the way) and not much further to the larger, busier Viking Bay - making it super-easy to pop 'home' if you've forgotten something! Broadstairs is a lovely resort, with almost a village feel but plenty of choice of places to eat out, buy an ice-cream, get fish and chips or just browse for a souvenir or unusual gift. The town boasts seven bays/beaches and they are all lovely, with large expanses of sand and plenty of rockpools at low tide, all flanked by wonderful white cliffs. There is so much to explore. The allocated off-street private parking behind the flat was a bonus. We could unload (and, after a week's holiday shopping at Westwood Cross and elsewhere, take longer to reload) our car safely in the knowledge that it wasn't on the main road. All in all, this is a fantastic base for a holiday, whether you want to stay in Broadstairs itself or venture further afield. (A beachfront walk to Botany Bay or down to Ramsgate harbour is about an hour in either direction - but not possible at high tide!)

You are always welcome to stay again. I enjoyed the our communication, but unfortunately we probably will never meet in person. When I am staying in Broadstairs with my family I am using the flat myself. Yes, it is big and we managed to stay there with seven people (four adults, three children) for a long weekend. Response from the owner Da bin ich sprachlos. Zum einen kam diese Bewertung mehr als sechs Monate nachdem die Gäste die Wohnung verlassen haben, zum anderen gab es danach zwei sehr gute Bewertung. Ich kann nur vermuten, dass die Gäste vor kurzem eine andere Wohnung mit tripadvisor gebucht haben und bei der Bewertung einfach die falsche bewertet haben.

“A COSY FLAT CLOSE TO THE BEACH”

My family and I spent a fortnight there. The flat has all the useful amenities that enable a good staying. It has games, videos and books available for the children. Its location is ideal as it s close to the beach and the local shops. We had a wonderful time and my girls are already asking to rent it again

Grundsätzlich: Die Wohnung wird nach jedem Bezug von einem lokalen Dienstleister professionell gereinigt. Da es sich um eine basement flat handelt, ist es jedoch grundsätzlich möglich, dass nach einem längeren Zeitraum ohne Belegung beim ersten Betreten die Luft in den Räumen einen 'abgestanden' Eindruck macht. Einmal lüften, während das Auto ausgeräumt wird und das 'Problem' hat sich, sozusagen, verflüchtigt.
