Description

'Pobbles' is a fantastic family holiday house in a beautiful location, within walking distance of the infamous Three Cliffs bay and Pobbles beach. It is situated on the Gower Peninsula, which was Britain's first designated area of 'Outstanding Natural Beauty'. Just minutes from local beaches, Pennard Castle and the Pennard Golf Club and just a 10-15 minute drive to the picturesque seaside village of Mumbles with its boutique shops, cafes, ice cream parlours and restaurants.

The holiday house has a great downstairs living space with large, light and airy family kitchen, lounge/dining room and playroom. Upstairs there are are four bedrooms with family bathroom and ensuite shower room to the master bedroom. The house is set up for 6 people, however we would be happy for a family/group of up to 9 to stay here. The kitchen is fitted with a fridge, microwave, oven, grill, 5 ring hob, dishwasher, double toaster and I should think anything else you might want! There is a large double garage attached to the house which has another fridge as well as a freezer. The garage also houses the washing machine and tumble drier. We have high chairs and cots if required.

Our garage holds our surfboard, bikes, windsurfers, wet suits and a trailer. We would be happy to come to an arrangement with a family about loaning any of this equipment. We would need to know in advance though or we may already be taking it with us for our own adventures!

In front of the garage is off road parking for two cars.

The house has a fantastic, large, corner plot garden which is safe and enclosed. The garden has a large trampoline and a deck area with a slide and play house at the back. The sitting room has double doors leading to a lovely outdoor eating area. A vine grows above on a pergola, providing a little shade from the sun trapped patio area. This is the perfect spot for eating out throughout the day.

Outside the back door there is a further seating area and a large charcoal BBQ. The evening sun sets in front of this area and so it is beautiful spot to catch the last of the summer sunshine.

Our home is maintained to a high standard throughout. There is a large internet TV in the back playroom. The super fast internet connection allows us to watch programmes online.

This house will provide the most wonderful holiday for any family interested in visiting the beautiful Gower peninsula tucked away on the south coast of South Wales. Within 5-10 minutes walk you can observe the most incredible scenery looking down on Three Cliffs bay, walking through woodland or strolling over the picturesque Pennard Golf course.

The house is also just a 2 minute drive from the local welsh pub and cafe/shops at Southgate and the Gower Heritage Centre with the only working mill in South Wales.

Please note that the home is available during the school holidays only as it is our family home during term time.

“Perfect place for a Family Holiday”

Pobbles is a lovely family friendly house and the owners were very helpful and informative. It's spacious, bright and nicely furnished. It's located in a quiet street and friendly "Hellos" from neighbours. There's a convenience store within a few minutes walk and a chemist about 10 minutes walk. For some reason there was a cow roaming around the chemist car park.?!! In fact we saw cows roaming around all over the place! Our Autistic 12 year old son enjoyed the garden and the indoor play areas. He also enjoyed going to the local park which had adaptive play equipment ( a nest swing, a swing with harness and wheelchair accessible roundabout) Our 19 year old son took care of the chickens and enjoyed collecting the lovely fresh eggs each morning. It was nice to be able to play the piano, even those of us who couldnt! Pobbles is a great base for exploring the area. We enjoyed visiting The Mumbles Pier, Clyne Gardens, Gower Heritage Centre and local beaches. It's good to be so close to countryside and the coast but still 20 minutes from Swansea town centre with its own attractions, such as the Waterpark. Would definitely reccomend for families!

“Wonderful place”

What a great house - our 5 year old set up in the playroom the day we arrived and didn't finish until the day we left! He did take time out to play on the pirate ship and the trampoline, and says I have to mention the swing. Great outside area. The piano was such an unexpected bonus, we are now looking to buy one. The walk to the three cliffs beach was longer than we expected but so good and worthwhile, what a wonderful place, see the castle en route, avoiding the wildlife and golfers which all adds to the adventure of the beach day. Not too far away by car are easier to reach baches but with parking fees and beaches not of of the same standard. Do try Rhossili beach - a walk and parking charges but wonderful. Also recommend Perriswood Archery and Falconry Centre, great place and very close, the falconry display is a must see. Also good fun at the footgolf and swimming in Swansea. Great holiday despite rain on a few days Thanks to Peter for great communications!
