We have stayed at one of Sophie and Wim’s apartments before, so we knew what to expect. The apartment is amazing and every detail has been well thought out. From the moment you step through the door you can immediately relax because the apartment feels so homely. To add to this there are also fabulous views over the Ria Formosa. If you are thinking of visiting this part of the Algarve I cannot think of a nicer place to stay.

Sophie and Wim are excellent hosts who make sure your holiday gets off to the right start by making the arrangements (if you wish) for the transfers to and from the airport, they are also there to welcome you to the apartment and settle you in. The apartment itself is situated with a great view of the salt pans and sea. Its not far to walk to the centre of Olhao, maybe about 15 minutes or so. Inside the apartment is beautifully presented and very clean and comfortable. It was our second stay and it is definitely somewhere that we will want to come back to again in future.

This is our second time at Sophie's apartments. They just get better, this time we were in Oceanfront, 4th floor up with amazing views over the Ria Formosa and salt pans, don't forget to bring binoculars. The weather was great, morning sunshine up on the roof by the pool, afternoon sun on the balcony with amazing sunsets. The apartment is spotlessly clean and lacks for nothing. All kitchen appliances are top brand ,you can also enjoy full UK TV channels and fast internet. Sophie and Wim are there to meet and greet you on arrival and are so helpful and only a phone call away if you need any help. As I said before this apartment is spotless, my one tip is please try to leave it that way.

Beautifully designed apartment, fully equipped and all with high quality furniture and devices. All very clean and with such a nice atmosphere. You only need to bring your close. The owners of this apartment have thought about all you may need... beach towels, robes, sun cream, films to watch in different languages, books and many more...(this besides the usual shampoo, hair dryer and so on). You can be sure you are in good hands.

This apartment (and the owners’ other 1 bedroom apartment, Waterfront) is of such high quality that it’s raised our expectations about holiday lets in virtually every aspect and it is excellent value for money. Sophie and Wim are great hosts and they have put a lot of thought into the furnishing and decoration, with a great eye to detail. It is modern, with all the up-to-date appliances and facilities you might need - washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, oven, coffee machine, toaster, high-quality wifi, air conditioning, a television (programmes from all over Europe via a box). Many items are provided free, including coffee, tea, washing liquid, toiletries, bathrobes, pool towels. The apartment is always spotless, with bed linen and towels not only provided but changed regularly. Sophie and Wim have provided a binder of hints and tips, for meals, visits, etc as well as instructions for the appliances. They are also happy to make recommendations and can be easily contacted if needed. The apartment has a private balcony, with a great view of the Ria Formosa, where we sit and relax and watch the world go by. There is a swimming pool on the roof, with lots of sunbathing space and panoramic views of the sea, mountains and over Olhao. It’s also in a great location. Olhão is a fishing port, more traditional than many Algarve tourist resorts, and only about 15km from Faro airport. We love to stroll down to one of the many bars in the early evening for a pre-dinner drink and watch the ferries and other boats come in and out of port. If you prefer beaches, there are lots on the islands, accessed by ferry. Nearby is a wonderful market, supermarkets, restaurants and bars and there are good train and bus services and lots of free parking if you wish to explore the area. In summary, a fantastic apartment in a wonderful location, which is why we keep returning year after year – our sixth visit is booked!

Wij gaan in mei weer voor 3 weken naar Oceanfront olhao. Wij kunnen niet wachten. Wat een luxe, wat een service. Niets is deze mensen te veel. Alles is boven verwachting aanwezig. Gaan nu voor de 3e keer!!!! Ik weet zeker ook nog een 4e keer.

This is a wonderful apartment, with a fantastic view over the Ria Formosa, which we strongly recommend. We have stayed here twice (and in Sophie and Wim’s other 1-bedroom apartment, Waterfront, three times) and have booked again for next year. It is very modern, spacious, beautifully decorated and furnished, and has lots of facilities – washing machine, dish washer, high quality wifi, English TV, air conditioning, coffeemaker, toaster... Sophie and Wim are really welcoming and provide lots of extras – beach towels, bathrobes, shampoo, shower gel, dish and clothes washing liquids, condiments, as well as a range of crockery, glassware and cooking implements. They also provide a folder with lots of information about the local area. Olhao is a lovely place to stay and we love to stroll down (10 minutes or so) to the markets on the waterfront and sit in one of the many cafes and bars watching the boats come and go. In the middle of the apartment complex, there is a bar, a restaurant, a Choco & Nut (waffles, crepes, ice cream, etc) and a small grocery store. Visits to the local islands for the beaches and bars/restaurants are also a must, on either the hotel boat (Real Marina) or the local ferry.
