Les Madieres is situated on nearly two acres of grassy lawn with gardens, an apple orchard and a terrace.

A picturesque stone farmhouse that has been updated to a clean, modern residence inside. Lovely views from each bedroom over the south facing front garden, well away from busy roads with period pieces throughout that creates a feeling of retreat from day to day life. The home has been completely re-furnished with new beds, lounge furniture, kitchen dishes and pots.

We have been using it ourselves for the past few summers and have recently (2023) renovated the kitchen. A perfect merging of rustic and comfort!

Les Madieres is a century-old restored stone farmhouse set in an acre and a half of lush land and gardens. The house provides a peaceful retreat in the French countryside, only a few minutes from the bustling market town of Vire, and with easy access to the numerous attractions and activities of Normandy.

The house contains 3 comfortable bedrooms (sleeps 6), and 2 bathrooms, including a spa-like bathroom downstairs. The rooms downstairs include an open-concept kitchen & dining room and lounge complete with wood-beamed ceilings and a granite fireplace. The lounge is equipped with a tv, dvd player, games and books. You’ll find an excellent supply of pots and pans, baking dishes, etc, to practice your French cuisine!

Les Madieres is situated on over one and a half acres of grassy lawn with gardens, an apple orchard, and a terrace. A picturesque stone barn is used as a potting shed, garage, and to store firewood. Enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace, stroll through the apple orchard, or relax on a tree-shaded lounge chair and lose yourself in a good book. Children will love playing on the vast level fenced lawn area or exploring in the orchard. The setting is tranquil and quiet, surrounded by farmland including our neighbouring cows.

Response from the owner Yes, unfortunately last summer we had moles visiting as uninvited guests! we have since hired a local mole-guy to deal with them. The gazebo to which this guests refers to was a temporary canvas & metal structure. It has since been replaced on the terrace with a new wooden pergola that is nearly twice the size. There are chairs and a table for dining outside (as shown in photos), however last summer some guests moved the furniture down to the deck beside the small pond, which is where they preferred to eat and enjoy their wine.
