The cottage has undergone a sensitive and creative refurbishment, with original brick floors, a wood-burner and beamed ceiling – all set in a lovely garden with an enclosed patio for summer drinks and barbeques.

The decor is in keeping with the style of the property and the owners do update each year. You are correct the stairs are steep and narrow and not suitable for everyone. We did have an unusual smell and this was investigated and rectified. So all is well as you say. Response from the manager Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at Thimble Cottage. I am saddened to hear of your experience and sorry to hear you would not return. The day of your arrival our Housekeeping Manager checked Thimble around midday and there was no obvious evidence of any leaks or flooding in the house. If this was the case it would of been addressed immediately. As you mention when when we were aware of the problem we sent a plumber straight out, it was unfortunate that the problem could not be resolved straight away, as a part was required which could not be supplied until the day next. We do apologise that this caused you not to enjoy your stay with us. If we had known of your dissatisfaction at the time we would of moved you to another property close by. As you were aware the weather during this time was extremely unusual with heavy snow and zero temperatures and all services were working extremely hard under difficult circumstances to try and rectify any problems. I am sorry you would not return to Thimble, however should you wish to return to Suffolk and stay in another property please do not hesitate to contact us again at Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages.
