“Lovely, very well equipped cottage”

Location is ok, not the most picturesque village I have been to but fairly good for access to many places. Not having a local pub was disappointing but there is a friendly pub, the Goat, in Pennygro… More

Response from the owner Thank you for your feedback it's much appreciated. I’m sorry to hear that the location and some quirks of the cottage did not meet your expectations. I feel that maybe Snowdrop cottage was not the ideal accommodation that you were looking for to spend your holiday. I pride myself on my business, customer service and an accurate description of what customers are to expect before they make a booking with us. The village is a tranquil place and offers a get away from it all break however amenities still being extremely close. Your opinion about the village not being the most picturesque surprises me as some of the mountain views from the village are some of the most spectacular I have seen including views of Mount Snowdon. The views of the mountains from the seating area in the garden have previously been described by my guests as second to none. I’m pleased to hear that you found the cottage cosy and comfortable as this is extremely important to me as a host. Due to the cottage being over 160 years old it is quirky including the steep stairs and some low ceilings which is why we make this clear on the description so people can take that into consideration before booking. It really does depend on the guest as we have had elderly people in the 80’s stay with us who have had no problem with the stairs. This is why I make it clear in my description before booking as I do not want my guests to arrive and be surprised they find it hard to navigate the stairs. In relation to the garden I find that you have been onto the top Tier a little concerning. Again, it clearly states on the description and in the welcome pack in the cottage that you are not to enter the top tier of the garden as it is a work in progress. In case guests have missed this information, it is also sealed off with a NO ENTRY sign so you are unable to go up there for the safety of our guests. We provide a seating area in Tier 2 of the garden with a view of the mountains for our guests to enjoy. Many of my guests have children and dogs and use Tier 2 of the garden comfortably. I however always stress they must be supervised at all times. It seems that some of the information we provide customers to make an informed decision on the location, accommodation, local amenities before booking may have been missed or overlooked on this occasion. Again, thank you for the feedback and I am glad you had a comfortable stay and enjoyed your time at the cottage.

“A wee gem!”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2021

Snowdrop cottage is a traditional slate minors cottage with charm and character. Ideal location to explore the National Park, Anglesey and North Wales coast. Family of four and the dog had a great stay. Things to consider, the house is small in proportions but has everything you need, internal stairs are steep - focus required! Lovely little back garden for sitting out. Talysarn is 10 miles from Beddgelert over a pretty pass , 15 mins drive from the beach and 20 mins drive from Carnaervon. Perfect base for exploring.

“Location, location, location!”

Reviewed 21 Jun 2021

We wanted to explore the Llyn Peninsular and the western side of the Snowdonia Nat Park so this was an ideal cottage. We had everything we needed including good weather! The Llyn has beautiful views, lovely beaches and coastal walks and, to the east, we walked to the well known Dorothea Quarry site which is just up the road. We explored the ruins of cottages and those of Talysarn Hall which is full of history. We had a day out on the Ffestiniog Highland Railway which was great. The most exciting day of the week has to be our visit to Zip-World and going down the mile long high wire, Velocity 2, which was AMAIZING!
