“Lovely cottage in the heart of the Peak District”

Reviewed 21 Sep 2022

We had an enjoyable weekend walking break staying at Wildflower Cottage. The kitchen is well equipped with space to store your own stuff. Within strolling distance of the local pubs and of course the fine walking. Excellent communication with the owner. We would definitely stay here again.

Ahhhhhhhhnd relax. What a fantastic place to go and unwind.Wallflower Cottage is a jewel, comfortable to a ridiculous degree, super comfy beds and fantasic location,no houses opposite so the view is over a beautiful valley, and the light in early morning and evening is magical. The George, about a hundred yards away,is one of the best pubs ever, great food and drinks and superbly friendly locals, and being a Mancunian,I know about these things.Carolyn is a fantastic host, nothing too much trouble and always on hand to help. The next-door neighbour,Doug, and his lovely wife, are like characters out of the Darling Buds of May,please engage them in conversation,it's well worth it!! All in all the perfect retreat from the modern world, you will feel like a support actor in a film about a long-forgotten age of England at it's best, please go and experience it.

“Perfect little gem”

Reviewed 14 Sep 2020

This cottage was beautiful. It was clean and modern, the host had thought of everything right down to the teabags and milk so thank you Carolyn. The view was stunning and you were a short walk away from a lovely little river with a small swim area which was great fun if a little cold. We were right on the doorstep of Lathkill Vale which is one of the most lovely walks I've done so is a must. The pubs in the village are friendly and do lovely food and you are just a short drive from Bakewell which is obviously a must. Would definitely recommend and am hoping to visit again soon. Thank you Carolyn for a wonderful stay.

“Lovely cottage”

We booked this cottage for the weekend so we could go one some hikes in the area and it was lovely! The neighbours were very friendly and helpful and the cottage itself was very clean and well equipped which was great, especially during the pandemic as we relied on cooking our own meals. Would definitely recommend!

“Cottage with a view”

Reviewed 12 Aug 2020

Booked last minute for 4 nights after our holiday to Spain was cancelled. Cottage was perfect for 2 couples and we were thankfully blessed with amazing weather so made good use of the decked sitting area. Views from the front bedroom are amazing. Lots of lovely circular walks from the cottage and pubs in walking distance. We particularly liked the Black Bull as so friendly and food excellent. We would love to return at some point in the future.
