Description
Among the oak forest in the Villa Arceno Estate sits Villa Casanova, a 'bijou' house set over two floors. It was once a hayloft and barn.
Restored to high standards with all the conveniences and comfort of today, Villa Casanova oozes charm and tranquility, and being secluded provides real privacy, surrounded by a large garden with flower beds and olive trees. Set away from Villa Casanova are two other villas (not rented) which make up the 'Casale' (farmstead).
Below the 'Casale' behind a Bay Hedge screen is the swimming pool with sun loungers and a gazebo with table and chairs. From the pool are views over the Apennines.
Away from the Villa, the garden blends into the forest beyond with oak, natural rock, little glades and terraces.
Our guests may sit in the shade or sunshine and admire the breathtaking views southward over Chianti, the vineyards and olive groves to 'Monte Amiata' the highest peak in the Siena area.
The enchantment continues with bountiful wildlife and birds that visit the garden along with myriad butterflies and bees. Villa Casanova is perfect to introduce small children to the world of 'Mother Nature'.
Casanova is reached by ‘strade bianche’, unpaved roads which wind their way through the Villa Arceno Estate.
On arrival our guests are met by a paved terrace with ample room for outdoor furniture, gazebo, dining table and chairs. Perfect for entertaining, 'Aperitivi', an 'Al fresco' barbecue dinner or breakfast.
The Villa, a typical Tuscan stone structure with chestnut beams has an open plan layout with fireplace, a comfortable seating area melding into a dining area. On one side is a fully equipped kitchen with enough utensils for keen chefs to create Tuscan inspired meals. Next to the kitchen is a utility room and cloakroom. Windows on all sides give views over the garden, countryside and let the breeze pass through the house.
To the left of the door are stairs down to the lower floor. The bathroom with shower, bidet, lavatory and basin is located at the foot of the stairs. Opposite is a storage room and along the hallway is the Master Bedroom with double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and chairs.
To one side of the hallway is a second bedroom with direct access to the garden. A wardrobe, writing desk and chairs along with a day/pullout bed furnish this room.
