“Dissapointing”

Reviewed 11 Apr 2023

Caveat: we could not stay in this property and got a full refund. The images and description are misleading. Firstly this is not a 3 bedroom property. There are two double bedrooms. A third ‘room’ is accessed via an extremely dangerous stepladder which would not meet health and safety requirements in the U.K. on the floor of this room were 3 dirty, stained mattresses. These were not beds and this was not a bedroom. The actual beds had creased, worn linens and we were not convinced these were freshly changed. Only one pillow each. The bathroom had a mouldy shower tray and we were given just 1 thin towel each (usually you get given at least 2 each in holiday accommodation). The kitchen was filthy. It had cupboard filled with rubbish, freezer filled with leftover food, greasy dirty oven and dirty fridge. Clearly no cleaners has been in despite the fact we had to pay extra for early check in. We felt we could not stay here for our holiday and managed to find an available hotel instead so thankfully only stayed there for an hour. We complained and to the owners credit did get a refund but it was a stressful and dissapointing start to a much looked forward holiday. This was not a cheap property - we paid over £1000 for 5 nights and did not get what we expected.

Response from the owner Worst guest I have had in all my properties. From minute 1 it was very clear that she just wanted discount for the property. I have rented this property out for hundreds of guests and never had any problems with the sleeping loft. On the other hand I have had guests specially thanking me for it, and getting notes that the kids love it. What ever I offered to make her happy, i asked if she wanted me to bring in 3 extra beds to sleep in on the first floor. But that was also not good enough. Then she started saying that the apartment was not clean. I asked if she wanted me to send staff to clean it again. That was not needed. Then I asked what she wanted me to do to fix it and that was basically just discount.
