Description from owner

Description

The apartment is located in a quiet downtown area right at the end of Reykjavik's main shopping street, Laugavegur and the main city bus station, Hlemmur.

The apartment was updated in April '15. The update includes a new 48" TV and cabinet, Harman Kardon blue tooth speakers, 2 TB media library full of music, movies and TV shows, expresso/coffee maker, new and bigger kitchen table and kitchen chairs, new carpet and much more. I also offer a rental car for a very good price.

Most of Reykjavik's best known restaurants, bars, cafés and designer shops are within 3-20 minute walking distance. Also in a walking distance there are the main church, an indoor/outdoor swimming pools, theatres, cinemas, and galleries. Reykjavik's shopping mall; Kringlan, is also within walking distance. Only 2 min. walk to supermarket open 7-24, a major hotel for day trip pickup and only 5 min. to the seafront.

There is a stunning view from the apartment, since it's on the seventh and top floor of the building. It has a kitchen with everything you need take make a simple breakfast or a romantic dinner. A bedroom with a double bed and large dresser. Living room with TV, DVD player and stereo, a very comfortable double sleeper/sofabed that sleeps two. I can put in a mattress for an extra child to sleep on. Bathroom with a shower and balcony with a BBQ. There is a wash room in the building and access to a private, very well taken care of, closed to the public, sheltered garden, for building residents and guest only. Access to private parking garage comes with the apartment. There are also plenty of parking spaces behind the building. Free WiFi (internet connection).

The drive to Reykjavik from Keflavik airport should take around 45 minutes. There is a Flybus that takes you to town once you arrive. You can get a Hotel drop off that will take you to Hotel Klettur, wright next door to the apartment The actual address is Asholt 2, 105 Reykjavik, apartment 702. A taxi from the airport should take about 40 minutes.

“Great place with perfect location.”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2020

Great location. Drop off/pick up place by Klettur hotel is only 5 min walk from the apartment. 2 supermarkets near by, within walking distance. Everything else was also near by. We even walked to the Perlan museum. Basic apartment that had everything we needed. Dishwasher would have been great, however we totally understand that there is no space for it. It did not bother us at all. Clean bedding, plenty of towels, tea towels etc. Beautiful views from the balcony. Would we (family of 4) stay there again? Absolutely. And would definitely recommend this apartment.

“Good location”

Reviewed 30 Dec 2019

Good location right on the main Laugavegur street of Reykjavík. Easy check-in, good access to the7th floor via lift and convenient parking in the garage. The flat had everything we needed (perhaps except a dishwasher which now should be a standard I think). There is a big TV set with Netflix etc. (if you came to Iceland to watch TV heh) which some people may find useful. I must admit there was a night or two when we watched Netflix which is provided so you don’t need a subscription. The only criticism is that the general cleanness of the place wasn’t 100%. The bathroom, especially the shower could be cleaner (booked through a service where quite a substantial cleaning fee is charged). The floors and a rug was not properly vacuumed. Some furniture were broken (coffee table leg + sofa front fascia). The kitchen area also wasn’t the cleanest (maybe we have high standards though). There were additional bedding available but we couldn’t find linen anywhere to really use it. Overall, it’s a good place, a bit dated but functional. I would however recommend it to family and friends. A greater attention to detail is needed from the owner to make this place really a 5-star accommodation.
