AN IDEAL SPOT FOR A FAMILY

Left on Dec 07, 2009 for a stay in October 2009

We found this remote cottage up Farndale to be equipped in every way for our needs. Our family consisted of grandparents, parents and two youngsters aged 11 and 8. Out and about we visited York, Scarborough and Whitby and particularly enjoyed the Folk Museum at nearby Hutton-le-Hole. The autumn colours were stunning. Our son-in-law was all over the steep lanes and tracks on his mountain back …

Nice secluded little cottage in moorland countryside

Left on Dec 02, 2009 for a stay in September 2008

This is a nice little cottage. It is not exactly spacious downstairs but quite adequate for two people, assumin gyou'll be going out most days. The bedroom is nice and spacious. Pity about the bathroom being downstairs (especially in the middle of the night!). It is equipped very well and I had no problems.
Location wise it is excellent, you are not far from many moorland places. There is Whitby …

charm and very comfortable. The garden was an added
area of calm and we loved the decked sitting area -
despite the snow!

Excellent situation for the central moors

Left on Feb 01, 2011 for a stay in November 2010

Good situation but you need a car with good clearance for the track. Walk straight from the house so just park the car up. Good pub at end of lane with plenty of good choice within a few miles.
Comfortable home, clean and tidy. Heating works well in winter plus a coal fire.
The coast is 40 minutes away - best of both worlds.
