Description
Chapel Studio near St Davids is a cosy romantic retreat for two with wood burning stove set in its own sunny, secluded garden. At the lane’s end with a 1/2 mile ancient path to the coast path, Treleddid Fawr is a quiet hamlet perched high on St Davids headland with views across the Atlantic Ocean to Skomer, Ramsey and other offshore islands.
Accommodation
The studio was originally the caretaker’s cottage for the adjacent chapel, built in 1834 which is now the owner’s home.
The studio does not accept pets.
Chapel Studio sleeps a maximum of two plus a babe in arms (not yet crawling). There is a double bed overlooking the private garden with cotton bed linen, feather winter duvet and pillows and silk and microfibre summer duvet.
A rich, polished mahogany recycled parquet flooring with rugs extends throughout.
The shower room is off the entrance hallway.
The rest of the accommodation is a large L-shaped room under a high wood panelled vaulted ceiling. An airy and spacious atmosphere is created by large south facing windows overlooking its own enclosed garden. The kitchen/living area, containing an electric oven/grill with ceramic hob, is well equipped for relaxing and cooking meals. The dining table and chairs sit below the garden windows and renovated antique arm chairs around the fire. Alternatively the studio can be heated by its electric radiators.
A radio/ipod dock and free WiFi are provided but a TV is not.
All wood fuel and a reasonable amount of electricity for the studio are provided. Guests are asked to use the metered external power outlet for charging cars.
Tea towels are, but personal towels are not provided.
A microwave is not provided.
The large entrance hallway/cloakroom contains a chair and pine wardrobe with full length mirror. Through the hall window you can watch wrens occupying their nests on cold winter nights in the covered outside porch.
Outside
Lawned and with old stone paths, the garden contains wooden garden furniture and a stone bench. It’s a sun trap and secluded haven of peace in which to enjoy the sun, the stillness or the unusually clear night skies. A seven foot stone wall separates the garden from the owner’s mature wooded grounds. A Pembrokeshire hedge bank topped with gorse separates the garden from a stream and bank on the other side.
Private parking is by the garden gate off the end of the maintained lane where there is a metered external vehicle charge point, available on request.

The studio is for a maximum of two people, but by prior arrangement, two adults with a baby in arms or one adult accompanying a child over 7 years old works fine.
Vehicle charging is available but only via the metered external charge point at the parking space. Guests are asked not to take electric from the studio for vehicle charging.

“Relaxing retreat”
Thank you Stuart and Ann for a wonderful week, and your help with the snow situation. It’s an awesome peaceful location and lovely studio retreat for relaxing by the log burner in the evening. A compact studio for two, no TV, but WiFi available, time to talk, read, and relax. Compact kitchen, with everything needed except a microwave, which wasn’t a problem. Comfortable bed with feather duvet and pillows, we slept so well, recharged our energy levels. Walked the costal paths most days, and walked a mile to St David’s in the snow, apparently the first in 8 years!!! Good pubs to visit, the Bishops in St David’s and the Sloop in Porthgain. Owners made us feel very welcome and went through everything on arrival, and very environment conscious (a plus) so all bins provided. The small garden attracted several species of birds; snipes, redwings wrens in old swallows nests. We also saw a pod of dolphins, seals and lapwings on walks. We would definitely book this studio again to do more costal walks when they run the Puffin bus service for walkers, something to look forward to. Chris and Steve
