Description

Beautifully restored stone cottage at the top of and overlooking a typical French village, with views of local mountains, forests and rivers. Nearby is the famous Via Ferrata "Grand Fistoir" with 3 of the best Tyrolean zip traverses in Europe and the Gliding airfield of Vaumeilh. Walking, locally and in the high Alpes is one of the most popular activities for the local folk as well as visitors. In winter when we have snow, a day's skiing may be had at three of the nearby resorts, each less than 1hour 30 minutes away.

The accommodation is two bedrooms, each with a double bed or two single beds as required. They both have access from the garden which adjoins the car park, so there is no restriction about coming or going. One bedroom is en-suit, the other has adjoining bathroom. Each room has T.V. and tea and coffee making facilities. Wifi is available at no extra cost.

This is Bed and Breakfast booking with breakfast served from 0730 onwards each morning. A vehicle is essential and the access road needs careful driving, but on arrival, the view is worth it!

The breakfast will consist of Cereals, Egg, Toast, Home made jams from fruit of the season, fresh bread home made, Croissants, Orange juice, Tea or Coffee.

The rooms are cleaned each day, towels and all bed linen are provided, the towels are changed as required or every three days.

Your hosts, Christine and Bill look forward to welcoming you and would be delighted to share their local knowledge.


ACTIVITIES.

The airfield of Vaumeilh is famous for it's gliding activities, and your host can arrange a trial flight for you.

A free fall dual parachute jump at Gap Tallard airfield.

Water sports including Canoeing, Kayak and White water rafting can be had on (the) L' Ubye river in the Haute Alpes.

The nearby town of Sisteron has a Plan D'eau ideal for all ages swimming or a pic-nic on the surrounding grassy banks. Free to all.

A Small charge is made for a visit to the Citadelle overlooking the town of Sisteron and the surrounding area.

Beautiful location, quiet, exceptional hosts who speak fluent English. They have remodeled this home entirely by hand. Vaumeilh is very small and very authentic. Just a short drive from the French Alp… More
