Description
This is a brand new, contemporary style villa that has a wonderful modern design. It belongs in the pages of Architectural Digest. The villa has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a guest toilet. The house can sleep 6 in total not counting children that sleep in cots. The house has an infinity pool 10 meters long by 4.5 meters wide. The infinity pool has black mosaic tile so the colour of the water blends with the sea. The effect is amazing. The pool has an automatic cover that is solar so the cover can heat the pool on its own. Not only is this good for the environment, it is also good for one´s economy as there is no extra cost to heat the pool. The pool has built-in steps and is illuminated as well.
The layout of the house is as follows. At road level there is off road parking for several cars. There is one area that is open and another area that is secure and behind a gate. As you enter the villa, you will be awe struck by the views of the sea, the mountains, which are snow covered part of the year, and the Moorish castle of Salobrena that is illuminated at night. It is like a post card. You can´t ask for a more stunning and interesting view both by day and by night. The spacious main bedroom is on the entrance level. It has a sitting area with 2 comfortable arm chairs and a TV and a DVD. Off of the main bedroom is a private, covered porch, which is the ideal place to enjoy your morning coffee and the sunshine as you take in the lovely views. There is comfortable outdoor furniture for your use. There is an en suite bathroom with double sinks and a good sized bathtub and a walk in wardrobe.
Steps lead down from the entry level to the main level of the villa, where you will find the open plan living area. This open plan living area features double height ceilings with double height windows so you can enjoy the views over the infinity pool to the sea and the mountains. You can even enjoy the blue skies that Andalucia is famous for from inside the villa. Make sure you bring your sun glasses as you can make use of them even when you are inside. There is a wood burner in the living area as well to keep you warm on the occasional cool, winter evenings. The kitchen is modern and features an island and is fully equipped. Of course, there is a dishwasher as well as no one wants to spend their holiday washing up! Since the layout is open plan you can be part of the action while cooking. The living area opens onto the pool terrace so you can move seamlessly from inside to outside.
There are 2 more bedrooms on this main level of the villa. One has a double bed (160 centimeter) and the other has 2 twin beds. Both bedrooms have direct access to the pool terrace and as a result can enjoy the great views and light from inside. Don´t worry there are electric shutters so you can make the room dark to sleep comfortably. There is a family bathroom for use of both of these bedrooms with a large, walk-in shower and double sinks. There is also a guest toilet.
There is plenty of space on the pool terrace to enjoy the sunshine, the views and al fresco meals. There are 6 sun beds, an outdoor sofa and chairs and a dining table. There is a gas barbeque at the villa as well for your use and enjoyment. There is a zen garden that is in keeping with the contemporary design of the villa.
The house has central hot and cold air conditioning so your comfort is guaranteed year round. The beach, restaurants and shops are less than 10 minutes away by car. Guests of this villa have complimentary, unlimited use of the well maintained communal pool, children´s pool, tennis court, playground and football pitch. There is a kiosk there, open part of the year, where you can purchase drinks and snacks. There are a variety of picturesque coastal towns nearby that are well worth visiting. The wonderful city of Granada with the UNESCO world heritage area of the Albaycin and the Alhambra Palace are less than 50 minutes away. The ski slopes of Sierra Nevada are 1 hour and 15 minutes away so you can ski in the morning and relax on the beach or in the heated (via the solar cover) infinity pool in the afternoon. Malaga is also nearby and is well worth visiting with its great climate, museums, shops and restaurants.

May 1st to September 30th: 125 euros

“Great Villa, Magnificent Views”
Our first trip to the Costa Tropical, and I'm sure it won't be the last. We have booked independently on a number of occasions in the past, so know what to expect. Sometimes the advertising gives a misleading impression. Not this time. The villa is furnished to a very high standard, with everything that you could possibly need should you not wish to move for a fortnight. A car is absolutely essential, and the drive to the villa is slightly daunting, but becomes easier the more times you do it. Salobrena is a lovely little town-very Spanish- with a range of decent restaurants and a well equipped supermarket. Good roads to Granada and the more touristy places. But why would you want to do that when you can spend 5 euros on a cracking bottle of Rioja and watch the sun go down over the Med from your own personal hot-tub. Brilliant place to relax and take a break.

“Luxury and Affordability”
We absolutely loved our stay in Salobrena, the villa was luxurious and so clean and furnished extremely well. We couldnt fault the villa at all. Salobrena old town was lovely but only managed to find by getting a taxi and the driver recommending retaurants. The new part of salobrena had a relaxing feel qith plenty of eating establishments. The complex could have done with a bar / restaurant on site so you could walk out for something to eat rather than drive. But a thoroughly lovely holiday was had by us all.

“Beautiful well equiped Villa in Salobrena”
We had a great time in villa castillo del mar and couldnt recommend it enough. It has everything you need and more to enjoy a lovely holiday. Marie and Christine @ cumbre villas were very helpful and kind in the lead up to the holiday with useful information on the area and the villa. It was a really lovely touch when we arrived and found a welcome basket with food and drinks. Not many places do that! The main thing we loved was the peace and quiet of where the villa was. All you could hear were birds singing. It was so nice. Our favourite place was the roof terrace with the hot tub and stunning views. Very relaxing to unwind with a glass of bubbly and beautiful views. we will definitely be returning in the future and its mainly down to the service that cumbre villas provide and their beautiful clean villas. :-)

“Excellent holiday”
What can I say, Villa Castillo del Mar is the perfect getaway. We had a very warm welcome to this truely stunning property, with everything you could ever wish for. Cumbre Villas are there for you if you need any help or advise, nothing too much trouble. There are many restaurants close by, either by car or taxi, our favourite was Casa Emilios (one of the beach restaurants). Granada, well worth a visit. Mostly we enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the lovely villa, and would like to return one day.

“Excellent”
We have rented many highly specced Villas for previously holidays, but must admit that this just about trumps them all. A beautiful villa with amazing views over the town and Castle with a great hot tub on the roof what more could you ask for. The management were very professional, helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!

“Great villa, great area, great value, great customer service.”
Fabulous three weeks at Villa Castillo de Mar which exceeded our expectations at every level. The property was exactly as described, very clean and comfortable, with stunning views. The heated pool (29C) AND hot tub (36C) on the huge roof terrace provided an extra level of luxury which made all the difference. Even with these extras the electricity cost was less than £50 per week. The service we received from Cumbre Villas was flawless from start to finish. Christine provided us with a level of friendly, personal service that you rarely find these days. Very detailed information was provided in the villa on every imaginable subject. Added to this we had extraordinarily good weather every day, cloudless blue skies, over 20C in the sun most days. What more can you ask? If you can drag yourself away from the villa, the local attractions are well worth a visit, even out of season. You have access to the local tennis courts, empty in November, rackets are provided. The markets in Salobrena, La Herradura are both small but good. The fish at Almunecar market (and also at Al Campo supermarket in Motril) is fantastically fresh and varied and, compared to the UK, ludicrously cheap. I recommend you watch the sunset over a glass of something at Buenos on the beach at La Herradura. Frigilliana was well worth a visit, try lunch on the terrace at El Porton. Granada is only about a hour away and needs two days if you have time. Booking a guided tour of the Alhambra in advance was well worth the money, we used www.MiReservaOnLine.es . Try to find time to walk round the Albaicin and up to the Mirador de St Nicholas. Also try La Oliva in Calle Rosario. We stayed at the Parador but would probably try the Hotel America next time. The neolithic site at Los Millares north on Almeria is fascinating. All in all an excellent trip, great value for money. I have no hesitation in recommending Cumbre Villas in general and Villa Castillo Del Mar in particular.
